H2Woe: The Cry of People: Representation of Water Crisis by Medias

The document discusses India's water crisis and its causes. It summarizes that 21 Indian cities will face water scarcity issues. It describes how the media portrays the water crisis as the government's failure to manage resources like building dams. It also notes that while the crisis was predicted, individuals and the government failed to implement necessary water conservation measures. Finally, it provides examples of measures to treat water as a precious resource, such as linking rivers, requiring industry to treat waste water, educating the public on conservation, and preventing deforestation to ensure rainfall.

H2woe: THE CRY OF PEOPLE

INTRODUCTION:
Water crisis in India has become a serious concern among
every resident be it the rich or the poor. There was always a problem for water in
India but this time it was the entire nation that suffered. 21 indian cities are bound
to suffer from water scarcity. More about this has been explained in the research
done by me.

REPRESENTATION OF WATER CRISIS BY MEDIAS:

Media portrays the water crisis in India as “inefficiency of

government”, ”Willfull negligence of government”. The medias target the
governments ruling the states for the crisis of water as they failed to tap the rain
water in reservoirs and dams and moreover the media’s raise a question of
WHY ARENT ENOUGH DAMS BEING BUILT TO SAVE THE RAIN WATER?
Medias are on full attack on the governments for their failure to save the rain
water when it is being need the most

OBVIOUS TRUTHS FORGOTTEN BY PEOPLE:

All the residents of India knew this water crisis was coming.
There was already a shortage for water in many parts of india and still people
refused to change their ways and failed to make necessary changes to save
water. Everybody knew that we would run out of water and would be on the
streets for it. Its then where the people of India including me failed to implement
measures to save water and create an awareness on water saving procedures.
People of India knew the truth long back neither did they do anything or did the
government do something towards saving water. The linking of rivers was the
only move done by the govt of Andhra nothing else was done regarding water
harvesting.

MEASURES WITH EXAMPLES TO TREAT WATER AS PRECIOUS

RESOURCE;
Ground water being the most sought after source by the 95% of people in India is
not adequate enough and unevenly available in all parts of the nation

MEASURE: Linking of all the river bodies may help in even distribution of water

Most of the water in rural areas are polluted by the waste of industries leading to
the water being unusable

Examples; industries must be made to install water treatment plants

Water is being wasted by 17.5% people in areas where there is adequate water
and there is negligence in saving the rain water

MEASURE; Proper education on saving water and management of water would

do the needed

Water tankers carrying water dispense 15% of water out while transporting that
goes wasted

MEASURE: water tankers must be sealed tightly like petroleum tankers to avoid
water from being waster

Trees play a major role in the ecosystem by ensuring the rains arrive on time and
it rains to the fullest

MEASURE: Planting more and more of trees and preventing deforestation and
encroaching of forest must be made effective

CONCLUSION:
Water crisis was a predicted one yet we never did anything
towards it. Its never too late to act. Our role in saving water is very much needed
to save water for the future generation. Its what we do now together that can
bring a change in the future. SAVE WATER THE WORLD IS IN YOUR HANDS
