Health & Safety Institute (HSI) makes it simple to become an authorized instructor
with your own American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) or MEDIC First Aid approved
Training Center (TC).

ASHI and MEDIC First Aid TCs provide flexible, innovative emergency care training and
certification solutions for individuals, businesses and communities. From CPR, AED
and first aid to bloodborne pathogens to adult and pediatric advanced life support, our
library of programs has something for every audience.

We’ll help you establish your own ASHI or MEDIC First Aid approved TC and provide
you with the tools you need to manage and build your business, or you can affiliate with
an existing TC in your area. Either way, you will gain access to high-quality, easy-to-use
training programs with excellent customer service and technical support.

Are you currently a CPR and First Aid instructor with
another organization?
If yes, we accept current credentials from other nationally recognized organizations or institutions
as the basis for authorization as an ASHI or MEDIC First Aid instructor or instructor trainer
(reciprocity). Please provide your current credentials with your instructor application.

If no, that’s okay; contact us and we’ll help you locate a Training Center in your area that offers
an Instructor Development Course (IDC). The IDC is designed to help you develop the necessary
instructional knowledge and skill to begin training others in ASHI or MEDIC First Aid.
When you are ready to apply, simply complete our instructor application.
Are you starting your own Training Center?
If you are starting your own TC, you will need to fill out a new Training Center application. You will
submit this form at the same time as your new instructor application.

Once you’re approved, HSI’s client services department will contact you to place your first order
for your program package and student materials. Orders will vary based on your training needs
and background.

After your first order is placed and your Training Center is activated, you will receive access to
your TC portal, your online resource for managing your entire Training Center. You can make all
future purchases online through your portal, or by calling client services at 800-447-3177.

Center to see if there is an opportunity to join or;

When you have connected with a Training Center, the TC Director will need to submit your new
instructor application and add you as a new instructor to their Training Center.

You must be affiliated with a TC or operate your own TC to conduct ASHI or MEDIC First Aid
training programs and certify students.

Getting to Know
Your TC Portal
Our Web-based portal helps you manage the day-to-day operations of your training
business including scheduling, instructor and resource management, ordering student
materials, reporting and sending email communications to students and customers.

It also gives you the option of offering blended learning classes, where students can
complete their course content online and conclude their course with
an in-class skills practice session.

Our tech support team is available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Eastern Time at
800-447-3177 to assist you with the TC portal, from resetting usernames and
passwords to walking you through any of the features and functions of the system.

 Starting Your Own
Corporate Training Center
Not all of our ASHI and MEDIC First Aid TCs are fee-for-services businesses. If you
are a corporate training officer or HR team member responsible for employee safety
and health training, you can bring emergency care training in-house by becoming
your own TC. Our corporate customers include some of the biggest names in utilities,
transportation, law enforcement and other major industries and public sectors.

We understand that emergency care training isn’t all you do at your job—let us help you

Note: If establishing an ASHI or MEDIC First Aid approved TC isn’t a good fit for your
