Ezmaster: Aws: Step-By-Step Setup and Configuration

This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up an ezMaster server on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to remotely manage EnGenius access points. It outlines launching an EC2 instance using the preconfigured ezMaster AMI, configuring associated security groups to allow necessary traffic, and accessing the ezMaster web interface using the public DNS or IP address. Key steps include selecting an EC2 instance type to support the desired number of access points, adding inbound rules for HTTP/HTTPS and CAPWAP ports, and testing connectivity once complete.

ezMaster: AWS

Step-by-Step Setup and Configuration

Author: Milo Van C. Cruz

Introduction
Amazon Web Services provides a selection of cloud computing server options. One of them is the EC2. Amazon
EC2 is more than capable to handle the ezMaster sever which can hold up to 10,000 APs in management.

EC2 also offers a 12-month free tier, called the t2.micro, which is good enough to handle 500 APs for
management.

The AWS option is great for clients who wish to manage EnGenius Neutron Series and other EnGenius 802.11ac
wave 2 products on the cloud.

This document serves as a walkthrough on how to setup the AWS based ezMaster c1.9.
Amazon EC2 Server Specs
t2.micro – 500 APs (free tier):
• 1 vCPU
• 1 GB RAM
• 30 GB SSD (20 GB minimum required for ezMaster)

t3.xlarge – 10,000 APs (check AWS for pricing details):

• 4 vCPU
• 16 GB RAM
• -- GB SSD (20GB minimum required for ezMaster)
Requirements
• AWS account (card details required)
• Neutron Series or any EnGenius 802.11ac wave 2 Access Points
• Stable internet connection

the Security Group. Note
that your security group
name may be different from
the screenshot.

Warning: Setting up multiple instances

Setup
18. All traffic is set on the
Outbound rules by default,
you may carry on. But for
