Outcome: Describing forms of communication

Objective

 Can give an extended description of everyday topics.

Speaking Task Description


You are going to give a group presentation about one form of communication. At the end of your
presentation, you will invite and answer questions from the audience.

Important: It is a group presentation, but each presenter must speak for two minutes.

Follow the steps below.

A. Plan your topic

1. In groups of three students, select a topic for your presentation. You can get ideas from the
box on page 200. Write your topic here: ________________________________________

2. Search information about your topic. As you do your search, complete the chart below.

B. Practice your presentation

D. Giving your presentation


Give your presentation to the class. Your group will have eight minutes to present (each presenter
will have about two minutes. At the end, the group will have two minutes for questions)

As a presenter, you should

 have visual-aids (you can include one single slide with pictures).

 talk to your audience (do NOT read from your notes).
 be prepared to answer questions.

As part of the audience, you must
