Control systems

Input devices focusing on sensors like:

O Temperature sensor- they are sensors that record temperature
O Humidity sensor- sensors that record humidity
O Motion sensor- is the linchpin of your security system, because it's the main
device that detects when someone is in your home when they shouldn't be.
O Heat sensor- is a fire alarm device designed to respond when the convected
thermal energy of a fire increases the temperature of a heat sensitive element.
o UV sensors- is used for detecting the intensity of incident radiation.
O Touch sensor- is a type of equipment that captures and records physical
touch...

Process= In this type of system the output can be checked, and the results fed back into the
system - to control it by making changes to the input and/or process.
A system controlling an automatic barrier at a car park, for example, needs control feedback
from the sensors which detect the approach of a car. If the feedback is positive, the system
changes to 'barrier up' - if negative, the system defaults to 'barrier down'.

Sensor What it Detects

Temperature Temperature
Light Light / dark
Pressure Pressure (e.g. someone standing on it)
Moisture Dampness / dryness
Water-level How full / empty a container is
Movement Movement nearby
Proximity How close / far something is
Switch or button If something is touching / pressing it

Actuators:

o Buzzer

o Sound

o Light

o Sprinkler
o Heater

o Automatic vents etc

An actuator is a device, controlled by a computer, that can affect the real-world.

Podcast:
A podcast is a digital media consisting of a series of audio, video or PDF files
downloaded through web or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.
