This study aims to determine the level of contribution of Google Search to the academic performance of senior high school students. It will survey students on the frequency of using Google Search, its advantages and disadvantages, and factors that make it helpful. The results could benefit students by informing them on Google Search's effectiveness, as well as teachers and the Department of Education. The study uses a survey questionnaire to collect data from senior high students of various strands at Saint Michael's College of Laguna, ages 16 to 18, to analyze how Google Search influences academic performance.

According to Coursehero (2015), Google search is one of the websites that most of the

students use. This search engine is used to gather and look for information needed in one research.

This is very helpful for the students because it makes their life easier than before. The author also

said that there are negative impacts to students because it restrains the ability of the students to

learn more.

Oya Rieger (2009) said that, Web indexes have turned into a necessary piece of our data

condition. Progressively, they are supplanting the job of libraries in encouraging data revelation

and access. Googling has turned out to be synonymous with research. Ongoing measurements

demonstrate that Google has turned into the quest interface of decision for some staff and

understudies to address their data needs, far surpassing their utilization of library lists. Google is

the most commonly used website.


Significance of the Study

This study will be conducted to determine the level of contribution of Google Search to the

academic performance of Senior High school. This study will benefit the following sectors:

 The Students, the recipients of the output of this research are the Senior High school

students. The students will determine how effective Google search is to their academic

performance and its advantages and disadvantages of it.

 The teacher, this study will benefit the teachers of Senior High school students. Through

his research, teachers will discover how google search can affect the learning and academic

performance of the students.

 DepEd, this study will be very beneficial to the DepEd officials. As they will find out that

Google search will nurture the students’ performance.

Statement of the Problem

This study was conducted to inform the Senior High school students of Saint Michael's College

of Laguna the level of contribution of Google search to their academic performance.

1. The frequency of Senior High school students using Google search.

2. The advantages and disadvantages of using Google search.

3. The factors that make Google search helpful to the students’ academic performance.

Conceptual Framework

The Conceptual Framework of the study use the Input-Process-output method. The
researchers will use survey questionnaire as a strategy of gathering information and data that are
needed in the study. Also, these questions will answer How effective Google Search is to the
academic performance of Senior Highschool students. The goal of this study is to let the students
know the level of influence of Google search engines to the academic performance of students.

Profile of the Students

The respondents of the researchers are the Senior High school students. Which means the

researchers cover all the strands Accounting and Business Management (ABM), Science

Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS),

and the General Academic Strand (GAS) of Saint Michael’s College of Laguna. The respondents’

age range are from 16-18 years old, both male and female. The researchers’ believe that the

respondents will help to the study, and answer of the given questions to gather information.
