Zimbabwe main characters:
The objective of the project is to make a small biography of the following celebrities who

will be represented by:

Robert Mugabe: ( Armando Molina)

He was born in (Southern Rhodesia, February 21, 1924 and died in Singapore, September

6, 2019) 1 was a Zimbabwean politician and military leader, top leader in his country

between 1980 and 2017. He was prime minister and later president after a reform

constitutional in 1987 that unified the head of government and state. Mugabe ruled the

country for 37 years until its overthrow. At 93 years old, Mugabe was changed until 2017

in the longest-running president in the world.

Facts that make a historical character in Zimbabwe:

1. Generate the biggest economic crisis in the country.

2. Order repression against your opponents and do voter fraud

3. He was arrested and arrested for 10 years in London where he obtained the right at the

University of London

4. President of Zimbabwe between 1987 - 2017

5. He was considered as dictator by the UN being sanctioned his government.

On November 15, 2017, he was placed under house arrest by the Zimbabwean army in the

midst of a coup led by Army Chief General Constantino Chiwenga.7 On November 19 he

was dismissed as leader of the National African Union of Zimbabwe - Patriotic Front

(ZANU-PF) provisionally replacing former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The

party also expelled several of its affiliates in addition to first lady Grace Mugabe.8 On

November 21, he resigned from the presidency.


Emmerson Mnangagwa (Enyer Orlando Hernandez)

Born in (Zvishavane, September 15, 1942) he is a Zimbabwean politician. He served as

vice president of Zimbabwe from 2014 to 2017. On November 6, 2017 he was dismissed

from his governmental position as vice president by Robert Mugabe after allegedly

conspiring against the government.1 Days later he carried out a coup against Mugabe in

which he was proclaimed president from Zimbabwe on November 24, 2017.

Stella Chiweshe (Zimbabwe, 1946) (Andrea Braunsin)

Zimbabwean singer. He was born on July 8, 1946 in Mhondoro, Zimbabwe. Internationally

known for singing and playing the mbira dzavadzimu, a traditional instrument of the Shona

tribe. From the first moment he heard his captivating sound, Stella decided to learn to play

it (between 1966 and 1969) so he could listen to it all the time. At that time she was one of

the few women who played mbira. In Shona culture there are special ceremonies in which

mbira connects with the spirits of the dead.


After independence, Stella soon assumed her role as a mbira concertist and dancer in the

National Dance Company of Zimbabwe.

Stella directs Mother Earth Trust (a network of women artists from Zimbabwe) and helped

form Zimbabwe Musicians Union.

she is a woman very committed to her audience with the harmonious sound of mbira,

making spontaneous observations, special use of the microphone and sound effects.

Oliver Mtukudzi (Alejandro Garzon)

Born in Harare, September 22, 1952, dies on January 23, 2019), also known as Tuku, was a

singer and musician from Zimbabwe, one of the most important in his country.

Mtukudzi began playing in 1977 when he joined Wagon Wheels, a group that was also part

of Thomas Mapfumo. His single Dzandimomotera was a gold record. It was followed by

Tuku's first album, which was also a great success. Mtukudzi also contributed to Mahube,

the "supergroup" of South Africa.2

Thanks to his hoarse voice, Mtukudzi became the most recognized voice in Zimbabwe.

Member of the Zimbabwe KoreKore group, whose leader was Nzou Samanyanga, sang in

the Shona language, one of the most important in the country, alongside the Ndebele

language. He incorporated elements of different musical traditions, giving his music a


distinctive style, recognized by fans as Tuku Music. Mtukudzi made several tours around

the world, as well as the United Kingdom, the United States or Canada. In 2017, Mtukudzi

entertained the guests at the wedding of Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo
