I would like to formally inform you that you have been chosen as one of my interviewees for my
architectural design thesis titled “A Health Care Facility for Children” in partial fulfillment of the
requirements leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Architecture. This study aims to come up an
innovative and functional architectural solution for the proposed Children’s Hospital: A Health Care
Facility for Children.

As you are the source of information for this study, you will be interviewed regarding your
opinions or perspectives regarding on Children’s Hospital. The interview will be audio recorded to
facilitate accurate transcription of data.

To guarantee confidentiality, your name will not be mentioned in the report and your statements
shall be coded. Although your interview is stored in my personal computer, it will be deleted after the
data has been processed.

Your participation is voluntary and you are free to back out at any time without giving any
reason. Moreover, you will be contacted if clarifications are needed.

INCLUSION CRITERIA

In selecting the interviewee, he/she must at least fall into one of the following criteria:
a. He/she must be a Pediatric Specialist / A General Doctor
b. He/she must have experience of at least 2 years in Medical Practice / Hospital Planning
c. He/she must be an architect with knowledge on sustainable building technology and Hospital Planning,
and Creative Designs
INTERVIEW PROTOCOL (GUIDE QUESTIONS)

1. What is your understanding of a “A Health Care Facility for children” and how do you think does
it function?
2. What are the common problems that are usually encountered in the Existing health Care Facility?
In terms of architectural?
3. What are the significant factors in considering for a site for a children’s hospital?
4. What is the appropriate planning principles and effective Circulation on designing a Children
hospital?
5. What spatial organization do you prefer on the said proposal: Clustered/ Centralized/ Linear or
any suggestion? and why?
6. What are the appropriate and best construction principles for a Children hospital, considering that
the said study is also geared towards sustainability? is it locally available?
 Aesthetic Consideration,  Engineering utilities,
 Façade Consideration ,  finishes and availability
 Lighting and ventilation, of Materials

7. What is the impact of holistic and creative design on patient’s treatment process especially on the
