Grade 11 STEM-Career Guidance

There is a famous quote that states "Failing to plan is planning to fail"- having a plan
is essential in order to progress in any aspect of your life, but especially important when the
aspect concerned is your career.
Module 1 of Grade 11-STEM Career Guidance entitled “Road to the Right Choice”
covers different professions and life choices for Grade 11 learners whose objectives are: 1.
enumerate the different professions and life choices; 2. explain the different factors affecting
the choices in life and profession; and 3. appreciate the factors in choosing a profession.
As facilitator of this module, learners were able to identify the factors affecting their
choices and lead them to appreciate how these factors affect their choices of profession.
Grade 11-STEM students had a good realization of what is stored for them in the future and
reflecting towards themselves if they really are on the track of their choice and not the choice
of the people around them. On the other side students still have these clingy reason in
choosing a future career which they should detach from themselves.
Indeed parents still have a big role in their children career path/choice. By giving
them the same information with the learners, this career guidance will have a big impact and
success.

aspect concerned is your career.
Module 2 of Grade 11-STEM Career Guidance entitled “The Star Power Within” is
practically about unleashing the knowledge and skills of every learner focusing on their
innate talents, interests, skills, and abilities to help them identify their potential through the
different activities and opportunities of learning capsulized in this module. Learners have
learned to 1. identify the knowledge and skills needed in the different professions and life
choices; 2. identify the knowledge and skills needed in the preferred profession; and 3. value
the importance of knowledge and skills required in the profession.
As facilitator of this module, learners were able to identify their strengths and
weaknesses in terms of their knowledge, capability and skills they possess and needs to
develop. On the other hand, students started to ask theirs elves if they are are fit to perform
the career they chose in the first place.
Indeed knowing their full potential through other culminating activities will help
learners in achieving their dream.

As facilitator of this module, learners were able to know the different source of
information in helping them towards their success. They understood the value of networking
which is beneficial to them. On the other hand, they had difficulty in identifying agencies
with almost the same function.
Through inviting these agencies in school will help students understand more or fully
the function or service they can give the learners.

aspect concerned is your career.
Module 2 of Grade 11-STEM Career Guidance entitled “Fit Me Right” will make
learners realize that as they go along the way, they will find out that they do not have to make
the decision alone. The role of parents and other support system is given emphasis in this
module. The students were able to 1.discuss the role of parents, guardians, and significant
others in pursuing the learners’ preferred profession or career; 2. evaluate the abilities, skills,
role of parents, guardians, and significant others in deciding for a profession and vocation;
and 3. express commitment to pursue the chosen track/strand.
As facilitator of this module, learners were able give parents information about their
children abilities, capabilities, skills and wants as their future career. As stated by learners
some parents had their realizations to give support in their child’s decisions. Giving their
children freedom and time to discover their skills. Providing motivation to develop and
achieve. Provide encouragement to pursue interests and ambitions.
Indeed parents still have a big role in their children career path/choice. By giving
them mental, emotional, physical and financial support will lead to students success towards
their career path.

Being able to identify all the skills you have can open you up to more career options.
It can also help you work out if you have any skill or knowledge gaps that can be addressed
with further training.
As a facilitator of this module, I have witnessed how some of the students struggle on
having the skills and abilities that will match their life career choice. This module was an
insightful way to identify their strengths and weakness for self-growth.

No fast forwards,..Going through the hurdles and obstacles in one’s path. Challenges
that somehow affect you from reaching your goal. Just as career options are numerous, so are
the possible ways of addressing the tests that come along with the preferred career.
Module 6 of Grade 11-STEM entitled Up, Up in the Ladder of My Career guides the
learners in applying their abilities and maximizing their resources in deciding for their
career. It made them realize that there are many factors that affect and in a way, strengthen
their decision making for a career choice.
Most of the class from this group have a commonality in affecting their choices which
is 1)their parents 2)personal choice and 3)job opportunities. Before the reflection, students
where negative towards the disadvantages in pushing through their life choices but was
enlightened that all choices just needs motivations to overcome those hurdles. Parents were
able to see the side of their child towards career choice because the modules were asked to be
signed by them.
At the end of the day, students will live a question in their mind to reflect onto. “If
you knew what the future holds, would it really change your direction?” Something that must
be answered and should be cleared.

Allowing to know yourself can help oneself. This module is about the process
towards strategic implementation leading to the realization of the learner’s chosen profession
or more career goal that help learners learn more about their interests, values, and skills in
relation to their current situation which is vital to their profession in the future.
As Christian D. Larson have said, “The true purpose of the strong is to promote
greater strength in the weak, and not to keep the weak in that state where they are at the
mercy of the strong.”

This module 8 of Grade 11-Stem entitled I plan to Succeed enable learners to identify
their strengths and weaknesses, and analyzed opportunities and threats that run with them.
They also learned that SWOT is not only an effective tool for business but is also beneficial
for job seekers and students like them who aim to climb the career and success ladder. They
learned the step by step procedure in making plans depending on their timeframe. It assures
them of a more structured and reliable implementation of plans that will lead to achieving
goals. The session enabled them to focus their talents, skills, and values to the career and life
plans that they dream of.
At the end of the day, having a successful career will offer you a lot of benefits and
real life opportunities. Working your way up to the apex will definitely improve your
quality of life. Success is near for people who dares to dream and become. Building a
successful career takes time, effort, and patience. Have a will to sacrifice some time and get
out of your comfort zone to succeed. It's not hard. It just takes courage and commitment to
follow everything that you've targeted.
