About R Programming

The  R  language is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical

software and data analysis. R possesses an extensive catalog of statistical and graphical methods. It

includes machine learning algorithm, linear regression, time series, statistical inference to name a

few.  It compiles and runs on  UNIX  platforms and other systems including

Linux, Windows and macOS.

R is not only entrusted by academic, but many large companies also use R programming language,

including Uber, Google, Airbnb, Facebook and so on.

Why you should learn R Programming

R is open-source and freely available. Unlike SAS or Matlab, you can freely install, use, update,

clone, modify, redistribute and resell R. R is cross-platform compatible.  R can be run on

Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It can also import data from Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access,

MySQL, SQLite, Oracle and other programs. R is a powerful scripting language.  As such, R

can  handle large, complex data sets. R is also the best language to use for heavy, resource

intensive simulations and it can be used on high performance computer clusters.With R language

as a skill-set, one can find jobs such as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Quantitative Analyst,

Financial Analyst.

Course Pedagogy 

This workshop is a judicious mix of classroom learning as well as hands on experience. Required

material would be provided in soft copy. Students can carry their own laptops. Attendance is

mandatary for all days. Certificate will be provided at the end of the workshop.

Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate students and research scholars from all academic streams.
