INTRODUCTION:-
A Foodies Cart is a web-based application that stimulates the foodies (customers) to put
food orders through internet by locating their favorite restaurant or nearest one.
The main objective of this project is to develop an application which gives provision to
the restaurant owners to flourish their business by uploading menu’s at no cost and will
invariably lead to higher customer retention and acquisition rates.
2. PROBLEM DOMAIN:-
Many restaurants is storing all of their data in manual way. They have huge number of
customers daily, & because of the large numbers of customers, they also have customers
feedbacks in large size. In the existing system entering all the details are done manually,
it takes lots of time and also there are chance of mistakes.
3. SOLUTION DOMAIN:-
The project aim is to develop an online food order system that can be used in the small
medium enterprise food & beverages industries which can help the restaurants to simplify
their entire daily operational task as well as improve the dining experience of customers.
The project is being developed to let the users to view the menu card information of the
restaurant and to let the users place the order via the system. Next, it also allows staffs to
generate report that they wish to generate such as monthly sales report. The most
important function is to allow staffs to make billing statement for consumer to make the
payment after the order.
4. SYSTEM DOMAIN:-
The system provide customer with good dine in experience as it allow customer to view
food information and place order using the mobile phone & other devices. The web
application also provides ease of use to customer because it has easy understandable GUI
and minimal instruction to follow while searching & ordering through the web
application. Next, it helps restaurant staff to serve the valuable customer in minimal
delay. Furthermore, the system can be implemented with low cost and is affordable for
most of the small medium enterprise restaurant, because the hardware requirements are
not high end powerful in order to support the system.
5. FEASIBILITY STUDY:-
5.1 Introduction to feasibility study:-
In this application the customers will get various benefits like online searching of
food and ordering of foods etc. they can also give feedback related to food and
services given by hotel. Customers can order the food according to the feedback
of the food available and hotel. The admin will be responsible for the adding of
new hotels and deleting the hotels in database if required. The logs will be
maintained by the admin on the ordering and feedback of the customer related to
food.
5.2 Purpose:-
This system is a bunch of benefits from various point of views. As this online
application enables the end users to register to the system online, select the food
items of their choice from the menu list, and order food online. Also the payment
can be made through online mode or at the time of home delivery depending upon
the customer’s choice and convenience. The selection made by the customers will
be available to the hotel reception or to the person handling work assignment.
Now this same person will assign the orders to the specialist chef to be completed
within a fixed duration of time. As soon as the chef prepares the food, the later
person forwards the parcels to the delivery persons assigned with the location and
customer identity of the customer along with the bill status.
6. EXPECTED OUTCOME:-
The expected output from this project is a system-based that will be able to store
customer's information, waiter's information, menu's information, store customer
information of online ordering and reservation information and customer's suggestion and
generate profit business report. Otherwise this system will change form manual system to
computerized system. Also we want to give a better UI and UX to the users.
