ENGG01P01 Project

Students will form groups of 4-5 to complete a project on an approved technological topic. Each group will research their topic, develop solutions if needed, and prepare a detailed report to present to the class. Group members will receive a mark out of 30 for their individual contribution and the overall report. The first few weeks will be spent gathering information and discussing as a group and with the professor before beginning the writing process. Dates will be set for meetings and the final presentation. ENGG01P01 – TECHNOLOGICAL CONCEPTS

AUTIMN 2007

GROUP PROJECT

- Students are required to form groups of 4 or 5


- Each group will select a project from the list given below or suggest a
different project and have it approved by the Professor.
- The group will gather information, study the subject of the report in
brain-storming sessions, come up with a solution, if one is needed, and
prepare a detailed report on their work.
- The report and its findings will be presented to the class where the
students will have a chance to comment and ask questions.
- A mark out of 30 will be given to each member of the group, consisting
of 20 for the report and 10 for the individual’s contribution to the report.
- This is meant to be an exercise in problem solving in addition to training
in search for information and report writing. The first three or four weeks
of the semester are to be devoted to information gathering and discussion
both in class and among the group members. When given the green light by
the Professor, the group will begin writing the report. Dates will be
announced for a review meeting with the Professor and for the final date
of report presentation.
