C A S E 1: When Liquid & Gas Flows Are Given Use This Row. GOR & WC Are Not Needed

GVF, or gas volume fraction, is defined as the ratio of the gas volumetric flow-rate to the total volumetric flow-rate. The document provides a spreadsheet to calculate GVF from known parameters like flow rates, GOR, and water cut. It outlines two cases - when oil flow, water cut and GOR are given, and when standard oil, water, and gas flows are given directly. The spreadsheet allows operators to understand GVF and check the specified range for multiphase flow meters.

Gas Volume (void) Fraction (GVF.) Definition:

GVF, or gas volume fraction, is defined as the ratio of the gas volumetric flow-rate to the total volumetric flow-rate.
The total volumetric flow-rate is the sum of the liquid volumetric rate and the gas volumetric flow-rate. These
volumetric flows are usually expressed in actual (not standardized )volumetric terms. Express in either percentage (0-100%) or

WC = Water Cut or Percentage

Gas Oil Ratio (GOR) is expressed in Standard Cubic Feet of gas per barrel of hydrocarbon liquid crude (SCF/BBL)
BWPD = Barrels of Water Per Day
BLPD = Barrels of Liquid (Crude+Water) Per Day
SCFD = Standard Cubic Feet Per Day
What is GVF? Let us understand it. Needless to say, before MPFMs selection the specifying

the expected variations. Useful for reviewing and specifying the GVF range while ordering the MPFMs.
