ABOUT THE COMPANY

Jindal Aluminum Limited, established in 1970 gave shape to the needs of different customers. Over the
years, the changing needs of customers have led to us develop newer profiles of Aluminum Extrusion for
general and Customized applications.

Today, we extrude over 3,500 profiles in various alloys for different applications such as Architecture,
Aerospace, Defence, Electronics, Transport, Agriculture and a whole wide range of industries. From the
technology applied in manufacturing the testing equipments and standards, Jindal Aluminum Extrusions
are synonymous with world-class quality. It is the symbol of quality that has been the choice of discerning
customers. We are contributing to about 30 Percent of India's total production of Aluminum Extrusions with
an installed capacity of 30,000 tons.

The company has installed 5 most modern extrusion plants of 750 tons, 1500 tons, 1650 tons and two presses
of 2200 tons capacity and various other modem handling equipments to produce quality products. The factory
is adequately equipped with physical and chemical testing laboratories for carrying out sophisticated tests. The
quality of the products has been maintained conforming to very high international standards. Jindal Aluminium
Limited is the first to get ISO Certification in Aluminum Industry in India.

Research & Development (R & D): Tapping ideas into Reality

The R & D Division of the Company which has been duly recognized by the Department of Scientific &
Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi, is constantly
striving for impOli substitution and improving the existing techniques Like process automation, alloy develop-
ment, sophisticated extrusions, etc. and up-dating process technology. In fact, These positive results have
encouraged R & D Department to take more challenging assignments, which, not only Enhance company's image,
but also help the nation in import substitution. Extensive programmes havE; been chalked out which will seek new
avenues in the field of energy conservation & manufacture of sophisticated extrusions.

Latest Technology and Equipments

Jindal Aluminium Limited is a forerunner in installing several latest technology & modern equipments to get
high quality profiles. It has an in-house foundry with modern melting & holding fumaces including Hot
Top Casting Technology imported from U.S.A. By this, the company is able to produce highly refined,
close-grained & oxide free logs which results in superior finish on the extruded sections. Alloy is continuously
checked using modern computerised spectrovac for instantaneous analysis thereby, keeping composition within
very close tolerance and achieving desired mechanical properties.

The extrusion presses are most modern with state-of-the art technology. Products emerging from the press are
handled on the run-out using precision tension controlled pullers, transfer arm and other modem handling
equipments to achieve high quality extrusions.

The dies used are manufactured with latest equipments such as computerised precision Jig Boring Machine
from Switzerland and USA, Computerised programmable Wire cut Machine from Japan and Switzerland.
In addition, it has host of precision measuring equipments and CAD-CAM facilities.

Finally, thermal treatment referred as'Aging' is carried out using high velocity air oven with precision controlled
temperature to get uniform properties all through

The Company is continuously upgrading its facilities in tune with European & American Standards for achieving
high Quality Extrusions.

Jindal Aluminium Ltd.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ABOUT CATALOGUE

The sections shown in this Catalogue are regular profiles for which dies are available with us on the date of
publication and are available to customers without die charges. We are continually adding to the range of extrusion
dies. If the particular section, required by you, is not shown in the Catalogue, please write to our works at Banga10re
to meet your specific needs. To avoid confusion and delay in the processing of enquiries and execution of orders,
correct and detailed information about the desired sections is required.
All the standard sections given in the catalogue are generally available in ALLOY 63400 & Temper WP (HE9WP)
corresponding to IS-733 & IS-1285. Extrusions in alloys other than these would be subject to special enquiry.

ABOUT EXTRUSION

Extrusion is the most modem and very versatile method offorming aluminium. The aluminium logs, after casting
to the specified alloy, are fed into continuous log homogenising furnace wherein, they are heated to a desired
temperature. The logs are then fed into hot log shear where the logs are sheared to billets of required size. The
billets are pushed under tremendous pressure. applied by a hydraulic ram, through a shaped aperture in a steel die.
The die aperture may have almost any imaginable contour, thereby making it possible to produce infinite shapes and
the cross sections can then be sawed to the required lengths. It is possible to control the finish of the extruded
sections to such a degree, during its passage through the steel die that no further finishing may be necessary, and if
required, the profiles may be anodised/powder coated straight away into attractive colours for higher consumer
appeal.

I. CASEMENT WINDOW

dill d

Casement windows (Hinged Type) are simple in design. They are mostly used
in residential applications. The windows have hinged panels which open
either on the inside or outside. Some windows have additional panels for fixing
mosquito mesh, grills etc. These windows can also be made out of hollow
shapes which have grooves for weather strips. Extruded glazing clips are
used forfixing glass. This will eliminate ugly display of screws.

I
The present concept of modular design in office and commercial
establishments have offered a wide scope of applications for use of
aluminium extruded sections in door and partition. The partitions can be so
designed to have wooden panels at the bottom and glass on the top. They
can be built on site with very little disturbance to the masonry and being very
light, reduce the load on the structure.
