Arduino Based Elevator Pulley
Arduino Based Elevator Pulley
ELEVATOR PULLEY
Arduino based elevator pulley was inspired by a home problem of the programmer with
regards to bringing cooking equipment, utensils and cooking ingredients from 3rd floor to the
kitchen area of their apartment which is at the 2nd floor. It was designed to make the transfer of
things from a point to another point faster. Thus, a time saver machine.

In this project, we are planning to make it a separable type of machine in which you can
assemble and disassemble its parts easier giving the location of its use not limited to only one
area. Technically speaking, the Arduino will be installed in where the machines muscle, the
motor, is located. The load will be raised and lowered from here by rope cables. Turn the motor
clockwise and the load will be lowered. Turn it counter clockwise and the load will be raised. A
counter weight will live on the other end of the rope to offset the weight of the load. We will
follow the standard which is half of the weight of a fully loaded carrier that is planned to be 10
kilos. The sensor will receive the signal from the switch that if clicked it will signal the motor to
move. Therefore, the switch will act like a remote of the whole machine. Also, when the load
didn’t comply with the instructions given, the installed speaker on the carrier will command a
sentence of what should be done. Additional special concept of this machine is that, you can
choose between two speeds, but the faster speed will have to comply within the range of 1kilo
to 5kilos. On top of the carrier will be the display of the total weight and it will send a command
on the switch. If it is between the range, then the switch button for faster will on automatically
and can be pressed. Green color for ‘go’ and red for ‘don’t press’. To speed up the motor for a
faster transfer of the load is by changing the supply voltage of the motor. Thus, by varying the
applied voltage, the electromagnetic torque developed by the motor can be varied.
