Lesson Development
1. Preliminary Activities-
MOTIVATIONAL ACTIVITY: Teacher will let them sing the (joyful, joyful we adore
thee )
REVIEW:
 The teacher will review their past lessons on musical signs and symbols.
 The students will identify the following:
a. G-clef
b. half note
c. quarter note
d. staff
e. dotted quarter note
f. bar line
2. Learning Activities
A. Presentation of the Lesson:
 The T will present the new topic about melody (Pitch name)
 The T will present to them the meaning of the melody

 T will introduce first the pitch names in the lines (Every Good Boy Does
Fine), then in spaces ( F A C E ).

 S will listen carefully to the T while he/she is explaining the lesson


 REVIEW OF THE LESSON
T will show 5 flashcards with a drawing of a staff and 1 note.
S will identify what pitch name does the card shows.
T will go back to the piece “joyful, joyful we adore Thee”
S will identify the different pitch names

B. Group Activity:

S will be divided into 4 groups and each will be given a wyteboard marker and a
mini board.
 T will give instructions
 form a straight line
 choose a representative in each group either a “boy or a girl”.
(Every question will be given 1 min to answer.)
 raise answers in unison
 A group who got a highest score will be the winner
GENERALIZATION – T will ask:
What are the pitch names that can be found in the lines of the staff?
How about in spaces.?

APPLICATION

EVALUATION-
T will give 5 items exams each no. will be given 1 min to answer

1. ( Give the 4 pitch names in Spaces)

2. ( Position these notes in the staff B, A,C,E and ,F

3. ( Draw an extension note)

4. (If the A is in the 2nd space in the staff how about the E?
draw a note using whole note

5. Give the 5 pitch names in Lines

ASSIGNMENT
T will give an assignment 1-10
Write the pitch names below the notes of the piece provided ( 1 point for
each note)
