V/S MODE.....................................................................................SELECT (-1500)
‐ Select V/S 1500 ft/min initially. V/S in excess of 2 000 ft/min will result in the
speed increasing towards VFE.
‐ When reaching VFE, the AP maintains VFE and reduces the V/S without MODE
REVERSION.

APPROACH BRIEFING STATUS Current technical status of the aircraft and
discuss the imposed limitations or applicable procedures.
Weather expected weather at the alternate aerodrome.
NOTAMS pertaining to the arrival.
F-PLN PAGE. Cross check the Arrival Runway, Allocated STAR and
transition and type of approach expected. Top Of descent (Time or
Position), PF briefs PM of the strategy and speeds (Managed/ Open)
STAR Type of arrival, MSA, routing along the chart from the MCDU with
associated Speed and Altitude constraints, HOLD published along the
STAR route with respect to Hold Type, entry, inbound course, MHA and
MAX holding speed.
Additional or special procedure as published on the STAR chart, All
cautions mentioned on the STAR chart.
Approach Chart. Type of approach, NAVAID Identifiers, Frequencies and
courses that form a part of the approach. PM crosschecks the same on
the PFD, ND. FINAL APCH COURSE, any associated check heights.
In case of an offset NPA, Offset & RUNWAY TRACK.
LANDING ELE from the chart and PM crosschecks Cruise page on SD.
Method of intercepting Final Approach Course (DME ARC, O’HD, RAD
VEC…. etc)
All cautions & highest obstacle in Plan area of the chart.
Approach strategy (Early Stabilized or Decelerated)
Final Descent Point associated intercept altitude and published Glide
Path from the MCDU and PM crosschecks the same from the chart.
In case of an early stabilized approach this is a good time to brief the PM
on the configuration strategy for the approach
(All NPA/ RAW DATA Approaches must be flown early stabilized).
Minima as per the chart (increment of 50 ft in case of CDFA approach) PF
briefs the missed approach procedure from the MCDU, Approach lighting
systems available and location of visual glide path aids and Alternate
routing.
