Lab Report # 8

The lab report summarizes simulations of non-R-T AM transmitter/receiver using Simulink. It was submitted by Amna Shafa Irfan, Ayisha Nisar, and Hafsa Naeem for their Digital Signal Processing lab task. The post-lab tasks involve changing the modulation index to 50%, 100%, and 150% and observing the effects on the modulated and demodulated signals. Generating DSB-SC and using coherent detection is also included, along with analyzing spectra and commenting on bandwidth and transmission efficiency of AM and DSB-SC schemes.

In lab task:

Post lab task:

 Change the modulation index to 50%, 100% and 150% respectively comment on the
influence of changing ‘mu’ on the modulated and demodulated signals.Keep the carrier
signal frequency same as before .

 For 50%:
For 100%:
For 150%:

 Generate DSB SC and use coherent detection to recover the message signal.
 Analyze the spectra of AM and DSB-SC signals and comment on the bandwidth
and transmission efficiency of both schemes
