Student Manual
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the document is to demonstrate step-by-step working of Course Bidding Software

SCENARIOS
Scenario 1: LOGIN to Application. Students can login using Login Credentials provided by the IT
Team.

Scenario 2: Retrieve Password. Students can retrieve their password by clicking on Forgot
Password. An email will be sent to provided email address with login credentials.

Scenario 3: Navigation to Bidding Round interface Students can see 4 tabs once they login
to the application. “Home” page shows the list of Confirmed courses, Available courses and
Dropped courses. The Confirmed Courses shown on the home page also include pre-enrolled
courses.

Bidding Round tabs are active only during the bidding round times.
Important: Do not get confused between Bidding pages and Home page. Although the pages
look similar, students can bid only on the Bidding pages. You should explicitly navigate to Bidding
page on your own, system does not take you. The navigation bar, referring to the screenshot
below guides you to the Bidding Round -I, Bidding Round-II, & Bidding Round – III pages
respectively.

Scenario 4: Marking Courses as Favorite.


Students can mark a course as Favourite by clicking on the Star icon provided on the home page.
The Favourite courses are shown at the top during the bidding round. The Star icon acts as Toggle
button and you may click on it again to remove a course from the Favourite list.

Scenario 5: When you navigate to the bidding round page even before the round starts, students
see the following message with the timer showing the remaining time left to start the round

Scenario 6: Active Bidding round

On the Bidding page students would be able to see their academic data on Min Credits, Max
Credits, Credits Selected, Min Courses, Max Courses, Courses Selected, Start time, End Time
and Current time.

Students would also be able to see the information on confirmed courses (i.e. courses won and
selected in the previous rounds and the pre-allotted courses), Selected Courses (i.e. courses
selected for the current round bidding) and all the available courses in the offering.

Scenario 7: Selecting a Course.


Students can select a Course from the Available Course List by clicking on Select Button

But there are a few constraints,

a) Students cannot select a course that is clashing with their existing Confirmed Course or
already Selected Course. The button becomes de-active with a message Clashing

b) Students cannot select a course that they have already selected


c) Students cannot select a course beyond Max Courses allowed or Max Credits allowed

Scenario 8: Deselecting a Course.

Students can deselect a course that they have won in the same round from the Selected Courses
list.

Scenario 9: Dropping a Course.

Students can drop a course that they have won in the previous rounds from the Confirmed Course
List

New features added into Course Bidding System

Three new features have been added into CBS. As pointed in the screenshot above.
1. The refresh button allows you to update the static bidding page when needed
2. Download confirmed courses allow you to download excel file of the list of courses won by you
in the bidding rounds
3. Active Bidding round is indicated by Asterisk beside the Bidding round
