0 Gradient Applications

1. The document provides examples of calculating gradients, directional derivatives, and other vector calculus concepts for two functions f(x,y) and f(x,y,z). For the first function f(x,y) = -0.25x^2 - 0.25y^2, it asks to find the gradient, level curves, tangent lines, normal lines, direction of maximum decrease, and directional derivatives at the point (-3,4). 2. For the second function f(x,y,z) = x^3z - 2yz^2 - 2z, it asks similar questions like finding the gradient, directional derivative, tangent plane, and normal line
