EXPERIENCE AS TRAINEE

After three and a half years of institutional learning, being on your own in
a completely different environment with new sets of customs gives you
an excellent opportunity to learn which only going knees deep in the
profession teaches you. It not only pushes your discipline's limit but also
your limits as an individual. Going through it for almost six months, the
need for practical training has concreted its importance in any field that
one pursues.

As a trainee, I have gained a lot from whatever positive and negative

that was thrown towards me. I tried to make full benefit out of the
exposure to a professional environment polishing both my design and
professional practice skills. Time management, an organisation of work
done, standard practices, etc. were amongst the few things where I
developed the most.

On completion of my practical training, I have a better understanding

about what can be done or what should not be done by my analysis of
the environment. I also have a clearer idea of the impact I can make in
the society with my ever-developing skills. The head architect said to me
on the first day “Whatever you make will built on the site, and someone
will live there after completion. Be careful”

I am grateful to my teachers as well as my co-workers for providing me

with this highly rich opportunity.
