It is highly recommended that the following documents are available for Reference while installing this product:

Important Information
1. When using the DNT-T103 with the DG1 termination board package the outputs should always be set
to internal power. Attempting to use the external power option with the DG1 termination board could
result in equipment damage.
2. The Termination Board mounted to the VAV/VVT box is not a programmable controller. All control
and network functions are performed by the BACstat
3. BACstats are not flash loadable in the field – an upgrade requires swapping out physical product.
WARNING:
Do not open the actuator or the controller.
Place the actuator on the damper shaft so that the front side, (label) of the actuator is accessible.
• A 1/2 inch shaft size guide is factory installed. If the damper shaft size is not 1/2 inch, then remove the shaft guide
from actuator through the damper shaft hole on bottom of product.
• 3/8 inch shaft adjustment: Remove the 1/2 inch shaft size guide, then install the 3/8 inch shaft insert so that the
raised tabs are inserted last, through the damper shaft hole on bottom of product.
• 5/8 inch shaft adjustment: remove any shaft guides or adapters from the actuator through the damper shaft hole on
bottom of product.
2. The actuator on one end of the Integrated Housing fits over the damper shaft on the VAV box. Slide the controller over
the damper shaft.
3. Secure the plastic housing to the VAV box with a sheet metal screw (through the mounting slots and brass bushing
provided). It is recommended that the screw be positioned near the center of the slot (triangle mark in the plastic).
4. Determine whether the damper will rotate clockwise or counterclockwise to open, then secure the actuator to the
damper shaft as follows:
5. Ensure that the damper is fully closed. The indicator on the end of the damper shaft should be vertical (up-down).
6. To ensure proper functionality of the damper, depress the clutch, and stroke the damper fully in both directions.
CAUTION:
Installations requiring CE conformance
All wiring for CE rated products must use an extra low voltage (SELV) or protective extra low voltage
(PELV) transformer. Use safety isolating transformers, (Class III transformer) per EN61558.
The transformer must be rated for 100% duty cycle.
WARNING:
WARNING
The controller is an Electro-statically sensitive device. Proper ESD protection (ground strap)
should be used when installing this product so that damage to the product does not occur.
Wiring General
All wiring must conform to NEC and local codes and regulations.
Use earth ground isolating step-down Class 2 transformers. Do not use auto-transformers.
Determine supply transformer rating by summing total VA of product and output loads.
• CAUTION – Risk of Electric Shock – More than one disconnect switch may be required to de-energize the
equipment before servicing.
• CAUTION – Input Class 2 Power Supplies are interconnected. To Reduce the Risk of Fire or Electric Shock,
Use only Class 2 sources Suitable for Interconnection.
• All terminals are Acceptable for Class 2 Circuit Connections Only.
• Select an external power supply that is certified for safety for the correct destination country and that has an
output rating, which is considered an NEC Class 2 or Limited Power Source with the rating not to exceed 30 V
rms, 42.4 V peak, 100 VA.
• Use copper conductors only.
• Apply minimum 6.0 lb-in torque for tightening field wires into the terminal blocks.
Power
This product is designed to be powered from a 24V AC Class 2 power supply. Typically power is applied to the
Termination Module and is fed down to the DNT-T103 through the “Controller” terminal block.
A single transformer may be used to power multiple controllers and/or auxiliary field devices (actuators etc),
provided the following conditions are met:
All devices MUST be ½ wave rectified. Mixing power between ½ wave and full wave rectified
devices will damage both the transformer and connected equipment.
The transformer is properly sized, including line losses for the total VA requirements
Polarity is observed between controllers (with respect to 24~ and Gnd).
Each device is grounded as shown in the diagram below. (This is important to protect equipment and
ensure a common ground reference for RS-485 communications.)
The transformer secondary is fused for it’s maximum rated load. (4A max for Class 2 circuits.)
RS485 Wiring
Notes:
1. The proper spec’d cabling must be used to ensure reliable communications. (22-24 AWG twisted pair, 100-120
ohms impedance, 17 pF/ft or lower capacitance, with a braided or aluminum foil shield.)
2. Controllers should always be wired together in a daisy-chain fashion attempting to connect them using a starred
or bus configuration will cause problems on the network.
3. Networks with a total length greater than 4000 ft or with more than 50 devices require a repeater (RPT-768)
4. LINKnet networks with only 1-2 devices and less then 100 ft of cable length do not require network terminators.
For much more detailed information on MS/TP and LINKnet wiring/installation refer to the Delta Controls Wiring
Guidelines document.
CAUTION:
The network shield and any other bare wires should be bent back and taped to ensure that they do not come
into contact with the board electronics and cause a short. Otherwise you run the risk of damaging the
BACstat.
CAUTION:
Do not use the same cabling for network and controller connections, as it will not meet the balanced cable
requirements for the MS/TP networks. Use a separate cable for the network connections.
Inputs and outputs on the DNT-T103 follow the same general wiring connection diagrams as other Delta
products. Refer to Delta Controls Wiring Guidelines for more details.
Input Wiring
5V
10K For 10 KΩ Thermistor temperature sensors,
as well as Dry Contact binary inputs.
10V
5V For sensors that use a 0 to 5 VDC signal.
10V For sensors that use a 0 to 10 VDC signal.
Output Wiring
NOTE: Triacs are solid-state components that are only appropriate for
switching 24 VAC. They cannot be used to switch DC voltage. They
also have a small leakage current and may not be appropriate for certain
“dry contact” applications.
CAUTION:
When using the DNT-T103 with the DG1 termination board package this jumper should always be set to
internal power. Attempting to use the external power option with the DG1 termination board could result in
equipment damage.
