Review:

“Who wants to be a Lollinaire?”

Direction: The students will be divided into five (5) groups. The teacher will flash a set of questions.
Each question will have a corresponding lollipop as a reward. The student/s who will be able to
answer the questions will receive a lollipop.

Motivation:

“Sing-a-song”

Direction: The teacher will play a video clip entitled “Roll over the Ocean” and let the students sing
the song.

Processing Questions:

The teacher will ask a guided questions that lead to the subject matter.

1. Do you find the song enjoyable?


2. What have you observed in the song?
3. Did you hear the words, “I, me, you, we, us, who, etc.” from the song?
4. Based on these words, Is there any idea that comes in to your mind what will be our topic this
morning?

Presentation of Objectives:

1. Define what pronoun is.


2. Identify the different types of pronouns and its use.
3. Appreciate the importance of pronouns in a text.

Lesson Proper:

“Fit Me a Dress”

Direction: The students will be grouped into three (3) groups. Each group will be given a puzzled
sentences which are incomplete. After arranging the puzzle, each groups will complete the sentences
before posting it on the graphic organizer on the board provided by the teacher. The graphic organizer

Analysis:

The teacher will ask a representative from each group to present their answers. After the
presentation, the teacher will check the answers, explain each type of pronouns and why those
sentences belong to its type of pronoun.

Abstraction:

The Teacher will deliver a lesson using interactive PowerPoint presentation.

Pronoun is a word used to stand for (or take the place of) a noun.

What are the Types of Pronouns?

1. Personal Pronouns
Personal pronouns are I, you, he, she, we, they. It refers to a particular person, group or thing.

Example: She loves to eat ice cream.

They will go to the beach this coming vacation.

2. Possessive Pronouns
Used to show possession or ownership. My, your, his, her, its, our and there are all possessive
pronouns.

Example: This is my book.

Have seen her book?

3. Demonstrative Pronouns
Used to point out a noun. The demonstrative pronouns are that, these, this and those.

Example: That is a good idea!

These are my books from Singapore.

4. Interrogative Pronouns

Used in a question. It helps to ask about something. The interrogative pronouns are what,
which, whom, who.

Example: What is the name of your mother?

When do we celebrate National heroes Day?

5. Indefinite Pronouns
It refers to an indefinite or general, person or thing. Indefinite pronouns include all, any, both,
each, everyone, few, many, etc.

Example: Something smells good.

None of them prepared the sacks.

6. Relative pronouns

It introduces a clause, or part of a sentence, that deserves a noun. The relative pronouns are that,
which, who and whom.

Example: You should bring the book that you love most.

Hector is a photographer who does beautiful work.

Application:

“LISTen!”

Direction: The teacher will read a short story entitled “Having a Best Friend” in the class. While the
teacher is reading the text, students must listen carefully and jot down all the pronouns that they have
heard. After the reading, the group will present their answers then they must give at least two (2)
moral lessons that they gained out of the story.

Evaluation:

“Pronoun Hunt!”

Direction: Highlight all the pronouns in this passage.

We visited the new planetarium in the city. When we got there, a man showed us where to
leave our coats and backpacks. A special guide explained the tour to us. I learned many new things.
For example, I didn’t know our Solar System was so big. We counted many moons around some of the
planets. Toward the end of the tour, the guide invited me to visit the planetarium again. I will definitely
come back someday. We collected our things and went back to school. I asked friends to name a
favorite planet. Mine is Saturn because of its many rings. The teacher wants us to do reports on the
planets. I want to report on the planet Saturn but so does Jomar. We decided to work together on the
report. We want to talk about Titan, one of Saturn’s biggest moons. We were interested in this moon
because Titan is the biggest moon, bigger than the planet Mercury!

Assignment:

Direction: Replace the word BLANK in each sentence with an appropriate pronoun.

1. I really like Katie, but she never notices BLANK.


2. My brother lives in Mexico. I don’t see BLANK very often.
3. This worksheet is hard, I’m not sure I can do BLANK.
4. How are your parents? I haven’t seen BLANK for ages.
5. Lisa really likes David, but he doesn’t like BLANK.
