Aim

Aim of the postgraduate programme in nursing is to prepare graduates to assume


responsibilities as Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners, Consultants, Educators,
Researchers and Administrators in a wide variety of professional settings.

OBJECTIVES

On completion of the 2 year M.Sc Nursing programme, the graduates will be able to:-

Course Description

This course is designed to assist students to develop a broad understanding of


fundamental principles, concepts, trends and issues related to education and nursing
education. Further, it would provide opportunity to students to understand, appreciate and
acquire skills in teaching and evaluation, curriculum development, implementation,
maintenance of standards and accreditation of nursing educational programmes.

Objectives

At the end of the course students will be able to:

Course Description

The course is designed to assist the students to acquire an understanding of the research
methodology and statistical methods as a basis for identifying research problem, planning and
implementing a research plan. It will further enable the students to evaluate research studies
and utilize research findings to improve quality of nursing practice, education and
management.

Course Description

The course is designed to assist students in developing expertise & in depth


understanding in the field of psychiatric nursing. It will help the students to acquire knowledge
regarding the psychodynamics of human behaviour, epidemiology, manifestations and
treatment modalities of various mental disorders, render holistic care to clients in various
settings and to function effectively as a nurse specialist among the interdisciplinary team
