Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this cover letter if ever your firm is in the way of taking new recruits. I would like to apply
as a civil engineer and it would give me great pleasure to occupy this job.

I am a fresh graduate of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Mauritius.
I had the opportunity to have some work experiences during the campus years namely at a
construction site with main contractor ‘Gamma Construction ltd’ whereby I acquainted myself with
the routines of a site engineer and technicians, the expectation they have from consultant drawings,
the formal meetings and problem-solving skills during consultant-contractor meetings. The second
major work experience was at a geotechnical engineering firm in which I learnt about field and
laboratory testing, geotechnical reports and structure design.

In addition to these experiences, I have a number of strengths to offer the firm. I have always shown
willingness to accept responsibilities and take initiatives by helping in different national events. My
versatility was proven time and again in the wide range of interests I had, namely in volunteering for
public speaking during the World Water day exhibition, the 70th anniversary of IEM in 2018, the
privilege to publish in the IEM Newsletter and being reliable and chosen to host various seminars of
the campus. Besides I have also great leadership skills and various team work experiences that I
inculcated during these past four years to make all projects and events that I have been part of
successful.

Together with the cover letter, I attach here with my CV for your full consideration. I appreciate your
time reviewing this ‘self-starter’ application, and it will be a pleasure for me to attend an interview
with you at your convenient time.
