Varma Therapy – Practical Training Programmes

There are several Varmaanis and Varma Assans in Tamil Nadu and Kerala practicing Varma
successfully and possessing knowledge, which they gained hereditary or by their practical
experience with or without formal education. Such varma medical knowledge is gradually
disappearing as that is kept as a family secret limited to their family members and not disclosed
to others. Sometimes, for want of suitable disciple.

The CVMR has take an effort to preserve such clinical practice and formulations and transfer to
young Therapists. So that the CVMR has started the following courses. CVMR offers five stages
practical training programmes in Varma Therapy.

Eligibility : Any Registered Medical Practitioners (BSMS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BNYS, MBBS),
Physiotherapist (BPT), Yoga Therapist, Acupuncturist, Medical Students, Para-Medical People and
those who are interested in Varma Therapy.

Centres : Kanyakumari, Palayamkottai, Chennai and Bangalore.

Note :

•All classes will held on Saturday & Sunday and other holidays on based of students
convenience.

•Only 20-30 students permit per batch.

•Certificate will be issued at the end of every course.

Stage I : SEEDAN (Disciple).

Course : Beginners Training Programme.


Part 1

Duration : 2 days (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Stimulation Methods on the basis of Thread-Measurement


Techniques in Varma Therapy.

Syllabus : Location, Stimulation and therapeutic importance of 108 varma points based on
Thread-measurement techniques. Varma Stimulatory Massage and therapeutics for 100
common ailments.

Part 2

Duration: 1 day (Not Compulsory)

Subject : Varma Massage for Degenerative disorders.

Syllabus : Varma massage techniques for Neck pain, Neck rigidity, Cervical spondylitis, Cervical
spondylosis, Wry neck.. etc.

Varma massage for Spine, Low-back pain, Lumbar spondylosis.. etc

Varma massage for Knee-joints, Knee-pain, Osteo-arthritis… etc.

Programme Material:
Practical Handbook for Beginners in Varma Therapy.

Reference book : Textbook on Thread-Measurement Techniques to locate Varma Points.

Stage II : VARMAN (Pupil)

Course : Learners Training Programme

Part 1

Duration : 2 days (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Relieving Methods on the basis of Finger-Measurement Techniques in
Varma Therapy.

Syllabus : Location, Relieving Methods and therapeutic importance of 108 varma points based on
Finger-measurement techniques. Varma Relieving Massage and therapeutics purpose.

Part 2

Duration: 2 day (Saterday & Sunday)


Subject : Varma Points and Pressure Methods on the basis of Adankal-Therapeutic Techniques in
Varma Therapy.

Syllabus : Location, Types, Pressure methods, Therapeutic uses and Clinical Application of 168
Adankal-Therapeutic Varma Points.

Programme Material:

Practical Handbook for Learners of Varma Therapy(I and II).

Reference book : Textbook on Finger-Measurement Techniques to locate Varma Points.

Stage III : VARMAANI (Varma Therapist)

Course : Higher Training Programme

Part 1

Duration : 2 days (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Plaiting Methods on the basis of Life-energy Circulatory Channels in
Varma Therapy.

Syllabus : 12 Life energy channels and its pathway, Life energy flowing internal organ clock and
channel based 108 varma points and its therapeutics.
Part 2

Duration: 2 day (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma points and Activation Methods on the basis of Basic-whirling wheels in Varma
Therapy.

Syllabus : Adhara(chackra) based 108 varma points and its therapeutic importants. Varma Vaasi
yoga dhayanam.

Programme Material:

Practical Handbook for Higher Practitioners of Varma Therapy(I and II).

Stage IV : VARMA AASAN (Varma Master)

Course : Advanced Training Progamme.

Part 1

Duration : 2 days (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Manipulation Methods on the basis of Graphical Measurement
Techniques in Varma Therapy.

Syllabus : Location, Manipulation and Therapeutic importants of 400 and above varma points.
Part 2

Duration: 2 day (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Massage Methods on the basis of Regional Therapeutic Techniques in
Varma Therapy.

Syllabus : Systematic regionally inter linked Varma massage methods.

Part 3

Duration: 2 day (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Clinical Methods on the basis of Basic Principle Techniques in Varma
Therapy.

Syllabus : Varma Clinical methods, Line of treatment and varma point-selection techniques.

Programme Material:
Practical Handbook for Advanced Practitioners of Varma Therapy(I , II and II).

Note : After completion of “Varma Aasan”, membership for "Indian Traditional Varma
Practitioners Association" will be provided.

Stage V : VARMA MARUTHUVAR (Varma Practitioner)

Course : Clinical Training Programme

Part 1

Duration : 2 days (Saturday & Sunday)

Subject : Varma Points and Therapeutic Methods on the basis of Non-Traumatic disorders in
Varma Therapy.

Part 2

Duration: 2 day (Saturday & Sunday)


Subject : Varma points and Reduction methods on the basis of Traumatic disorders in Varma
Therapy.

Programme Material:

Practical Handbook for Clinical Practitioners of Varma Therapy(I and II).

Note : After completion of “Varma Mauthuver", fellowship in "Indian Traditional Varma


Practitioners Association" will be provided.
