RATIONALE

Inventory management and supply chain management are the backbone of any business
operations. With the development of technology and availability of process driven software
applications, inventory management has undergone revolutionary changes.

In any business or organization, all functions are interlinked and connected to each
other and are often overlapping. Some key aspects like supply chain management, logistics and
inventory form the backbone of the business delivery function. Therefore these functions are
extremely important to marketing managers as well as finance controllers. Inventory
management is a very important function that determines the health of the supply chain as well
as the impacts the financial health of the balance sheet.

Every organization constantly strives to maintain optimum inventory to be able to meet


its requirements and avoid over or under inventory that can impact the financial figures.
Inventory is always dynamic. The study of the project has helped me in gaining practical
knowledge and insight into one of the significant inventory management system. The project
work will help me in my future job prospective, as it will guide me to give

Better work satisfaction to employee. The recommendations and suggestions by this


project work will guide the Organization. Workers can facilitate high standards and a safe and
nurturing environment. It is useful for organization to know how employees view the
workplace, pay and benefits their supervision.

By taking help of above websites I completed my project that is Inventory System. The
existing system works manually. The existing system has got lot of intricacies within itself
and need lot of human and paper work.

All above the data need to be maintained on ledgers and maintaining is a tedious and risky
process. As the transactions increases the data too. So the task of maintaining them
increases exponentially. To view a data may need lot of paper to be searched.

Some of the negative aspects of the existing system are as follows;

 1) Time consuming
 2) Reliability
 3) Man power
 4) Less accurate

ACTUAL METHODOLOGY FOLLOWED


The scope of this system is to provide user efficient working environment and more
output can be generated through this. This system will provide user friendly interface which
will result in knowing each and every usability features of the system.
This system will help in tracking the record so that the past records can be verified
through them and one can make decisions on the past records. This system completes the work
in a very less time resulting in less time consumption and high level of efficiency.
This system will be developed in such a way that even a naive user can also operate the
system easily. The calculations will be made easily and the records will be saved into database
and the database can be maintained for a longer time of time. Each record can be retrieved and
can be verified for the future transactions.

Following are the methods I will be going to use in my software:-


1. Insert:
This function will allow you to insert the data.
2. Edit:
This function will allow you to edit the data which you have inserted earlier.
3. Calculation:
This function will work as back end to calculate the values which we will enter at the
run time and will manipulate the answer.
4. Delete:
This function will allow you to delete the data.
5. Save:
This function allows you to save the final data

1. During implementing the software I understood the methods that how to start an
implementation of any software.
2. I understood how to remove different errors which occur during implementation of any
software.
3. I also understood how to create database and relationship in the tables.
4. I learnt how to connect the database or any report by generating applications in the
project.
5. I understood the concepts of implementing any of the software.

AREA OF FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

I will try adding more modules related to sale and inventory and make it more effective and
understandable in the upcoming project.
