Detailed Lesson Plan in Building Bridges Across Social Science Discipline

This document provides a detailed lesson plan on teaching models. It includes objectives, subject matter, learning activities, and an evaluation. The lesson plan discusses three teaching models: cooperative learning, decision making, and ACES (Activity, Analysis, Abstraction, Application) teaching approach. Students participate in group activities to learn about and apply the different models. The lesson aims to help both teachers and students understand how teaching models can enhance the learning process.

Detailed Lesson Plan in Building Bridges Across Social Science Discipline

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Identifies the three teaching models.
2. Give the importance of teaching models in planning instruction.
3. Shows how teaching model enhance students ability when it comes to teaching
learning process by different activity.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Teaching Models (Cooperative Learning, Decision Making and ACES Teaching
Approach)
Reference: Building Bridges across Discipline in Basic Education
pp. 57
Materials: Cartolina, markers, masking tape

III. LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Daily Routines
1. Prayer (Student’s will pray)
Class, let us all stand and put ourselves
in the presence of the Lord as we pray.

2. Greetings! Good afternoon.

You may take your sit properly.

3. Checking of Attendance (The secretary of the class will state the list of
absentees)
Is there any absentee for today?

4. Review/Recall The instructional strategies being discussed

Who among you remember the last meeting are lecture, roundtable, panel
Instructional Strategies being discussed discussion, brainstorming, role playing and socio
last meeting? drama.

B. MOTIVATION:
Before we go to our topic, I
prepared a game name PictuART. I need
three groups and each group must have 3
presenters. Each group must guess the
word with the help of their group mates.
Groups will have two minutes in guessing
and the group whom make it will be
rewarded.

Did you understand the directions? Yes Ma’am!

From the activity, what do you think is our

topic today?
Our topic for today is all about the three teaching
models which are the cooperative learning,
decision making and ACES Teaching Approach

Great answer! Today I will discuss the

three teaching models which are the ideal
process of instruction. These are broad
overall approaches to instruction but also
guide them in acquiring information,
developing skills, internalizing values and
engaging in other forms of learning
activities.

Cooperative Learning – This is the

procedure whereby learners work together
in small groups and rewarded for their
collective accomplishments. If benefits
both low and high achieving students who
were together in academic tasks. It has a
wider acceptance of people who are
different.

Decision making – this is an intellectual

process that requires students to select the
best alternative choice on a set off
condition or circumstances. It involves the
making of intelligent choices by
identifying objectives and alternative ways
of achieving them.

Identify the problem (Spell out what the

problem is and talk about why it is a
problem)

Create alternatives (List the possible ways

that a person could handle the problem)

Evaluate the alternatives (How much will

the alternative help versus harm the person
or other people in the person’s life)

Decide on the best alternative to do.

(Which alternative will bring the most help
and least harm)

ACES Teaching Approach – the ACES

Teaching Approach (Four A’s) follows a
logical sequencing of learning activities
from the closing activity as shown below:
Phase 1: Activity
Phase 2: Analysis
Phase 3: Abstraction
Phase 4: Application

C. ACTIVITY
Now let’s have another activity. I
will group you into two. Each group will
be given a question that needs the
member’s collaboration. You must have 5
minutes for that.

GROUP 1:
As discussed earlier arrange 4A’s
in order, and explain its importance in The ACES Teaching approach (Four A’s)
teaching learning process. follows a logical sequencing of learning activities
from the closing activity as shown below:

It not only help teachers in
planning instruction, but also guide them
in acquiring information, developing skills,
internalizing values and engaging in other
forms of learning activities.

GROUP 2:
By using the acronym ICED; As
future educator what do you prefer to use ( Student answers may vary )
on your teaching learning process
specifically on your instructional
materials? Explain.

D. ANALYSIS
Based on the activities we’ve done
we learned that in decision making it is
important to use the acronym ICED, the
importance of ACES Teaching approach
and cooperative learning, wherein students
work together for different activities in
academic tasks.

E. ABSTRACTION
1. What are the three teaching The three teaching models are the
models? Cooperative Learning, Decision making and ACES
Teaching Approach.

2. How important are teaching It not only help teachers in planning

models among teachers and instruction, but also guide them in acquiring
learners? information, developing skills, internalizing values
and engaging in other forms of learning activities.
F. APPLICATION
Teaching models help teachers in
planning instruction, but also guide them in
acquiring information, developing skills,
internalizing values and engaging in other
forms of learning activities also enhances
students intellectual capabilities to function
effectively in an environment that requires
working with others to accomplish a
variety of tasks.
