What overall experience do you have in construction?

Why do you want to work for our team?

Have you ever rewired a finished house?

What was the largest electrical project you worked on?

What do you find most challenging about being an Electrician?

What was your most difficult job before?

If you were rewiring one outlet in an older home, where all the other outlets had no ground, would
you find a way to install a ground into the new outlet or just let it go?

Why Motor rated in kW instead of kVA

Motor has fixed Power factor, i.e. motor has defined power factor and the rating has been
mentioned in KW on Motor nameplate

What is the Rule of Capacitor in AC and DC Circuit?

In an AC circuit, capacitor reverses its charges as the current alternates and produces a lagging
voltage (in other words, capacitor provides leading current in AC circuits and networks)

Role and Performance of Capacitor in DC Circuit

In a DC Circuit, the capacitor once charged with the applied voltage acts as an open switch.

What is Capacitor?

The capacitor is a two terminal electrical device used to store electrical energy in the form of electric
field between the two plates.

A DC System has a less potential stress over AC system for same Voltage level and power rating, this
is why AC needs more insulation than DC systemhy AC Needs More Insulation Than DC at Same
Voltage Level?

What is The Difference between a VOLTAMETER and a VOLTMETER?

A VOLTA-METER is a device used to carry out electrolytes and a VOLTMETER is a high resistance
device used for measuring potential difference or voltage between two points in an electrical
Circuits.

What is the difference between a battery and a capacitor?

Electrical Energy is stored in battery or cell in the form of chemical energy, and transformed again in
the form of electrical energy, while in a capacitor, electrical charge or energy stored in the form of
electrostatic field.

What is the difference between Power Transformers and Distribution Transformers?

A power transformer usually has one primary and one secondary, and one input and output and
rated above 200MVA. A distribution transformer may have one primary and one divided or
“Tapped” secondary, or two or more secondaries and rated less than 200MVA.

What will happen if the primary of a transformer is connected to D.C supply?

Why We Need to Install a Starter with a Motor?

large size of motors has a very low armature resistance. if connect this type of motor direct to
Supply (3-phase Supply) then the large current will destroy the armature wading due to low
resistance because motor is not running in this time.

Main Difference between contactor and Starter.

The important difference between contactors and starters is the use of overload heater element in
the starter. (For protect the motor from overheating or over load protection)

Can neutral be earthed at load side?

When the neutral is connected to ground and if any unbalance occurs in the circuit then the place
where neutral is grounded leads to a spark and there are chances of breakdown of all the loads
connected on that particular phase.

What are the mandatory tests required to be carried out to verify that the electrical work complies
and is there documented guidance?

a)Continuity of the earthing system (earth resistance of the

main earthing conductor, protective earthing conductors and

bonding conductors)

(b) Insulation resistance

(c) Polarity

(d) Correct circuit connections

(e) Verification of impedance required for automatic

f) Disconnection of supply (earth fault-loop impedance)
