Objective: To explore different types of Internet Browsers.
 Internet Explorer.
 Google Chrome.
 Mozilla Firefox.
 Safari.
 Opera.
 Konqueror.
 Omni web

Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and
included in the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, starting in 1995. It was first
released as part of the add-on package Plus! for Windows 95 that year.

Purpose of Internet Explorer:


This software allows users to view and navigate web pages on the Internet. Internet Explorer is
the most widely used browser in the world

Main features of Internet Explorer:


These are the four main features of Internet Explorer

 Error reporting mechanism. Lets end users report failures they encounter during use
 Personal Bar. Brings a new level of personalization and convenience to Web browsing.
 Privacy enhancements
 Standards Support
The latest release for Microsoft is Internet Explorer 10. It features a new interface that allows
for both use as a desktop application and a Windows 8 application.

There are a variety of versions of Internet Explorer for other operating systems including an
Xbox 360 version. There is also Internet Explorer Mobile for use on Windows Phone.Internet
Explorer is the default web browser that comes with Microsoft Windows.
IE 6Internet Explorer offers many proprietary extensions including HTML, CSS and the DOM.
Nonstandard behaviors include support for vertical text, support for a variety of image effects
and page transitions and support for embedding EOT fonts in webpages. The favicon feature
allows web pages to specify a 16 x 16 pixel image for use in bookmarks. Internet Explorer
caches visited content in the Temporary Files folder which allows offline access to previously
visited webpages. Caching is constantly being improved, especially in Internet Explorer 9.
Internet Explorer utilizes the Group Policy function. This allows administrators of Windows
Server domains being able to have control over many different settings on computers that
affect the user interface.

Google chrome:
Google Chrome is a cross-platform web browser developed by Google. It was first released in
2008 for Microsoft Windows, and was later ported to Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android. The
browser is also the main component of Chrome OS, where it serves as the platform for web app

Google is quick to assure users that aside from sporting the Google brand,Chrome boasts a
simple, fast and secure browsing experience. The browser is a standalone piece representing the
larger Google Chrome OS project. Chrome OS is, in a sense, replacing your computer's entire
operating system with just a Web browser
since 2008, Chrome has been faulted for not including a master password to prevent casual
access to a user's passwords. Chrome developers have indicated that a master password does
not provide real security against determined hackers and have refused to implement one. Bugs
filed on this issue have been marked "WontFix".[64][65] As of February 2014, the Windows version asks
the user to enter the Windows account password before showing
Google Chrome is a web browser that's free to download from the internet. Created by the
company that created the Google search engine, it's been designed to be both simple to use and

Mozilla Firefox:
Mozilla Firefox is a free and open-source web browser developed by The Mozilla Foundation
and its subsidiary, Mozilla Corporation. Firefox is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, BSD,
illumos and Solaris operating systems. Its sibling, Firefox for Android, is also available

Firefox is a Web browser that is smaller, faster, and in some ways more secure than the Mozilla
browser from which much of its code was originally derived. Compared to Internet Explorer, the
most popular Web browser, Firefox gives users a cleaner interface and faster download speeds.
Firefox is not a search engine, but a browser. You mention that Google comes up when you click
on the Firefox icon, which indicates that you have set Google as your home page. If you do not
want Google to be your home page, you can choose any page you like
pera claims its eponymous web browser is "far faster than Firefox Quantum 58." Mozilla claims
its better use of CPU time makes Firefox really fast.

Safari :
Safari is a graphical web browser developed by Apple, based on the WebKit engine. First released
on desktop in 2003 with Mac OS X Panther, a mobile version has been bundled with iOS devices
since the iPhone's introduction in 2007. Safari is the default browser on Apple devices.
What is Safari used for?
Apple Safari is a Web browser available for the Macintosh and Windows operating systems as
well as the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Safari has been designed based on the premise that the
most useful browser is one that "gets out of your way and lets you simply enjoy the Web.
Is Safari browser safe?
Safari has a lot of the best security features and keeps your information safe while you browse.
It protects against some malware and phishing websites. And as with many other internet
browsers we reviewed, you can adjust how strong or lax you want Safari's security to be.

Opera brower:
Opera is a web browser for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems developed by
Norwegian company Opera Software AS. It is a Chromium-based browser using the Blink layout
engine. Opera differentiates itself with a distinct user interface and other feature

Is Opera Web browser safe to use?


And while Tor Tor Browser is the most secure, it is so restrictive, that it's not pleasant to use as
a daily browser, but Tor great when you really, really want to cover your tracks. So yes, Opera is
relatively safe, certainly more safe than it was 10 years ago. And yes, there are more secure
browsers.

Konqueror is one of the most advanced file

FTP and SFTP servers, zip files (and other
archives), smb (Windows) shares, and even
browse and rip audio CDs.
Web browser
Konqueror is powered by the KHTML
rendering engine (and optionally Webkit)
which means it supports the latest web
standards such as HTML5, Javascript, CSS3,
and others.

Universal viewer
Konqueror makes use of the latest KDE
technologies to provide you with a PDF
viewer, an FTP client, a text editor, a
spreadsheet editor, a word document
editor, an SVN client and more without ever
needing to open a separate application.

Customizable application
Konqueror comes with a nice set of custom plugins such as an ad blocker, automatic web
page translation, user agent switcher, automatic image gallery creation, shell command
panel, and more.
It is one of the most customizable applications available

Omni web:
OmniWeb is a proprietary Internet web browser developed and marketed by The Omni Group,
currently developed exclusively for Apple's macOS operating system. It is available as a free
download.

Omni Web is designed to provide you with the best user experience you’ll find in a Web browser

in charge of your browsing experience rather than viewing you as a source of personal
information and advertising revenue , as some other browsers do .
Omni Web is fast , Even faster than Safari which is faster than most other browsers.

OmniWeb disadvantages
OmniWeb doesn’t offer too many additional features that could set it apart from other , more
mainstream browsers , although it is designed & equipped with some important options for
Mac , OmniWeb has weak RSS support , It does not handle inline WMA video very well and it’d
randomly crash .
