NARRATIVE REPORT
of
SLAC : DAP - ELLN on Session Guide 1 & 2
June 28, 2019
The session guide 1 and 2 describe the “Principles of Child’s Growth and
Development” in which it shows how the process of growth takes place during certain periods and
yet this process of every child involves learning and mastering skills like sitting, walking, talking,
skipping and many other skills. If children learn these skills during the predictable time periods,
this stage can make the child’s ability to learn and solve problems.
Last June 28, 2019, friday at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the SLAC session guide 1
and 2 were conducted and facilitated by Mrs. Kharyn B. Ajesta, School Head. Before the session
proper started there was first an opening prayer led by Mrs. Marina O. Cagampang, a Grade II
teacher, then followed by introduction of the facilitator made by the LAC Leader. After that, the
facilitator gave a preliminary activities to the participants through singing the song contain the
word of “bata, child or children”. Everybody participated it happily. During the session, the
facilitator discussed about the principles of child’s growth and development and how the child
grow, learn and develop emphasizing the 7 k’s of the child. It was elicited by having an activity of
forming the scrambled letters. To understand more, the video presentation was viewed and there
were some questions to answer by the teachers. It lasted for 2 hours. After answering the questions,
Mrs. Ajesta explained more how the children grow, develop and learn by asking about the
unforgettable experience they had during their childhood stage. Another activity was given by the
facilitator through playing the board games. She explained how does it played. The games finished
for almost 30 minutes and found it an enjoyable one.
The participants really enjoyed the session and being thankful to the facilitator for the
knowledge shared to understand more the general patterns of child’s growth and development and
how the children grow, develop and learn during this stage. Before closing, The LAC leader with
the facilitators and the teachers were having an agreement for the next topic to be discuss.
I would say that the first SLAC session was an informative and a successful one.
