Checklist For Footing
Checklist For Footing
Column/Footing No.:
The dimensions of footing and its diagonals are as per the R.C.C details.
The center nails of the footing are properly placed and in exact plumb with its respective
centerline, if it is not possible due to obstruction of other footings/columns then check it
with its nearest reference line.
The column is in exact center of the footing or if the footing is eccentric, then necessary
eccentricity is provided.
Provide the total depth of footing (D) and if any change in depth (even ½”) it would
affects the cement consumption.
Provide proper cover at bottom and side R/F for footing.
In the footing, top steel is provided & then covering is done w.r.t. the total depth of the
footing.
Level of steel jali is provides horizontal in position and difference are not be more than 10
mm at any position and also provide chair bars in between column main R/F & steel jali.
The number of bars in the footing and columns/shear walls including the details of links is
as per the sectional drawings and in exact plumb on all sides.
Length of bar includes: (a) Column below plinth beam (b) Depth of plinth beam
(c) Starter depth above plinth beam and (d) Lap length required for ground floor column.
Provide proper lapping (300 mm) at the end depth of Combined & Raft foundation.
The Development length is provides for columns/Shear walls (mainly the corner bars) are
placed properly, since load is transmitted towards the corner.
Before concreting, dewatering is done properly.
Provide P.C.C. as per details and P.C.C. is filled properly to avoid loss of cement slurry,
which may lead to honeycombing resulting in porous concrete that ultimately allows the
Sulphates & Chlorides present in ground water to corrode the Steel.
The inner surfaces of formwork are properly oiled to obtain a smooth finish.
Ensure at least one pair of Fitter to be kept at the place of Concreting to maintain the
positioning of bars, so that the problems pertaining to cover to main steels can be avoided.
