MEMORANDUM
TO: ___________________________________________
SUBJECT: AWOL ON A CRITICAL WORKING DAY
DATE: October 28, 2018
This Memorandum refers to your sudden absence on a critical working day (OCTOBER 27,
2018) without notifying the management at an earlier time prior to your absence even through
text or call that you cannot go to work.
We have noted based on your record, that you have incurred several unexplained absences
due to always being not feeling well, but no any medical document was shown to us to support
it. Moreover, every time you were absent to work without the consent of the management and
without prior notice, you are being told to provide a medical certificate. This policy of showing a
medical certificate as proof of being sick had been imposed for several years and it has been
emphasized to you many times already.
Further, all of you were told that each has a scheduled day off and during critical working days,
such as that of October 28, 2018, everyone has to be present unless otherwise the reason of
the absence is reasonable and justifiable which must be supported by documentary evidence.
The mere reason of being not feeling well, without the support of a medical certificate is SELF
SERVING and NOT VALIDATED.
For several instances, we have given you a consideration to accept your mere explanation, but
this time we have to impose the policy of the store to be FAIR and REASONABLE.
Please also be reminded of your various unsettled accounts due to many deficit cash
remittances (or you call it as SHORT). Thus, as regards your salary we cannot release it, and
we will be forced to deduct your unsettled short cash remittance in your remaining salary.
You are given 48 hours from receipt of this Memorandum to justify your sudden absence today
with a supporting document for us to properly evaluate if indeed REASONABLE OR NOT.
Failure to comply with this Memorandum, suspension or even termination shall be imposed.
THE MANAGEMENT
is issued concerning your unexplained absences during your probationary period.
Further, it is worthy to note that this incident is already your third unexplained absence
since you started working. Please be reminded that your employment is under
probation/observation wherein your character especially your attendance to work is
greatly being observed. Your first absence without any explanation to the management
was tolerated given that you were a newly hired, however, this time cannot anymore be
given consideration. Therefore, you are given 48 hours, from receipt of this
Memorandum to explain your consecutive absences on October 27-28, 2018 (Critical
working days).
