1. India and Australia played a cricket match where they scored the same runs but India lost fewer wickets, so India wins the match. This is represented in predicate logic and proved by resolution. 2. It is proved by resolution that Ravi likes peanuts using the facts that Ravi likes all foods, peanuts are food, and Ajay eats peanuts and is still alive. 3. It is shown by resolution refutation that no student will like the course CS 341 since it is a formal course and all formal courses are hard, and students don't like hard courses. 4. Consider the following facts

Team India
Team Australia
Final match between India and Australia
India scored 350 runs Australia score 350 runs India lost 5 wickets Australia lost 7 wickets
The team which scored the maximum runs wins
If the scores are same then the team which lost minimum wickets wins the match.
Represent the facts in predicate, convert to clause form and prove by resolution - "India wins
the match".
2. Consider the following facts
1. Ravi likes all kind of food.
2. Apples and chicken are food
3. Anything anyone eats and is not killed is food
4. Ajay eats peanuts and is still alive
5. Rita eats everything that Ajay eats
Prove by resolution that Ravi likes peanuts using resolution

3. Students don’t like hard courses.

Some courses are hard and others are not.
All formal courses are hard.
CS 341 (Theory of Computation) is a formal course.
Show by resolution refutation that no student will like CS 341.

4. Consider the following facts:

1. The members of the Elm St. Bridge Club are Joe, Sally, Bill, and Ellen.
2. Joe is married to Sally.
3. Bill is Ellen's brother.
4. The spouse of every married person in the club is also in the club.
5. The last meeting of the club was at Joe's house.

b) Try proving, by resolution refutation, that the last meeting of the club was at Sally’s house.
