Marlou: I am a psychic that learns to know all that everybody only guesses.
Marlou: When mother and father are gone for the day, I become both.
Marlou: I am a politician that must know the laws and recognize a trick.
Marlou: I am a dietitian assuring they have lunch or from mine I give them half.
Freincise: When we seem to stray from our values, I become a preacher,
Freincise: Ladies and gentlemen we are gathered for the World Teacher’s Day Celebration for the
District of Maayon with the theme: “Guro: Kabalikat sa Pagbabago.” And so, to start with let us
put our hands together and shout our HURRAHS!! As we welcome the teachers of the District of
Maayon, both elementary and secondary, in their grand entrance.
Freincise: Please remain standing for the prayer, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem
and Capiz Hymn to be led by the Maayon Elementary School’s Cherubim’s, with Mr. Leo D.
Durana, music teacher, conducting.
Marlou: Thank you children and Sir Durana. According to Ralph Nader, “A leader has the vision
and conviction that a dream can be achieved. He inspires the power and energy to get it done.”
With this, may I call the Public Schools’ District Supervisor of the District of Maayon, Mr. Zaldy
B. Caalam for his welcome remarks.
Marlou: Thank you very much Ma’am Dais. Someone once said “A teacher’s purpose is not to
create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own images.” To
pay tribute for the teachers, let us welcome the selected pupils of Maayon Elementary School.
Freincise: Thank you pupils for those affectionate tributes. According to Cicero “What nobler
employment, or more valuable to the state, than that of the man who instructs the rising
generation.” We believe this is the reason why despite his hectic schedule attending to many and
various affairs of the province, he spared his precious time to be with us in this memorable
occasion. Ladies and gentlemen the chief executive of the Province of Capiz Governor Antonio A.
Del Rosario in his message.
Marlou: Thank you very much Gov. Del Rosario for your great support to the Department of
Education in the Province of Capiz. Coming up is another public servant who considers education
as most valuable in the society. Let us welcome Cong. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones of the 1 st
District of Capiz in his message.
Freincise: Thank you very much Cong. Billones. Moving on we are also blessed to have with us
today our very own local chief executive of the Municipality of Maayon, Mayor Wilredo E.
Borres, Sr. in his message.
Marlou: Thank you Mayor Borres. We also have today our Vice Mayor to deliver his message,
please welcome Vice Mayor Wildie C. Apolinario, Jr.
Freincise: Thank you Vice Mayor Apolinario. Leadership in education is about learning - the
learning of others has to be at heart of the decision-making of any educational leader. Today we are
privileged to have with us the topnotch of Education in the Divison of Capiz to give us his
message. Ladies and gentlemen, let us all welcome the pride of Maayon, our very own, Dr. Miguel
Mac Dizon Aposin, CESO V, Schools’ Division Superintendent.
Marlou: Thank you Sir Aposin for that message. We also have with us our Assistant Schools’
Division Superintendent, to inspire our teachers, please welcome Mr. Nicasio S. Frio.
Marlou: Thank you Sir Frio. The next speaker who will give tribute to teachers is another pride of
Maayon. He is recently awarded the regional winner of Presidential (Lingkod Bayan) Award of the
Civil Service’s 2016 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees. Ladies and
gentlemen, please welcome Dr. Marlon P. Destreza, Chief of the School Governance & Operations
Division of the Division of Capiz.
Freincise: Thank you, Dr. Destreza. We are also pleased to have with us today, a lady who was
once a part of the DepEd Maayon Family and still, we believe, in her heart, continues to be a part
of the DepEd Maayon. Please welcome Dr. Segundina Flores- Dollete, the former principal IV of
Maayon National High School and now the Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division of
the Division of Capiz, in her message.
Marlou: Thank you, Madam. Our next speaker is also a distinguished Maayonanon. He is a
true-blooded Maayonanon who will forever bring pride to his hometown. Please welcome our very
own Mr. Andres Diaz Quiachon, Education Program Supervisor in Science of the Division of
Capiz, in his message.
Freincise: Thank you, Sir Quiachon. Thank you very much our public officials and DepEd
officials for your messages of tribute to our dear teachers. Let us give them a warm round of
applause. At this juncture the District Federation Officers of the Parents-Teachers’ Association of
the District of Maayon will also render their tributes to our teachers.
Marlou: Thank you Maayon District PTA Federation Officers. At this time, we shall witness the
simultaneous sounding of bells and sirens from our town’s fire and PNP headquarters. Thank you
police and fire officers for your tributes to our dear teachers.
Freincise: There is nothing so great a tribute you can give to someone than bestowing the
blessings of heaven upon him or her. At this juncture, let us welcome the selected pupils and
students of Maayon Elementary School and Maayon National High School to lead the prayers for
teachers.
Marlou: Thank you pupils and students. Newton Baker said and I quote, “A schoolmaster should
have an atmosphere of awe, and walk wonderingly, as if he was amazed at being himself.” End
quote. Ladies and gentlemen, let us all welcome our teachers in their showcase of talents through
the Teachers Got Talent Part of this program.

Freincise: Thank you teachers for showcasing your various talents. Thank you for leading us to
the threshold of wisdom and thank you for your lifetime of service and commitment for the
betterment of humanity. This ends the first part of the program. Thank you everyone for coming
