Marlou: Good Morning Sirs and ma’ams

As we begin these most momentous and eventful celebration in your lives as teachers
allow us read to you AN AFFIRMATION OF TEACHERS by Stacey Bonino:

Marlou: I'm So Much More Than Just a Teacher

Freincise: I am a counselor and psychologist to a problem-filled child,

Marlou: I am a police officer that controls a child gone wild.

Freincise: I am a travel agent scheduling our trips for the year,

Marlou: I am a confidante that wipes a crying child's tear.

Freincise: I am a banker collecting money for a ton of different things,

Marlou: I am a librarian showing adventures that a storybook brings.

Freincise: I am a custodian that has to clean certain messes,

Marlou: I am a psychic that learns to know all that everybody only guesses.

Freincise: I am a photographer keeping pictures of a child's yearly growth,

Marlou: When mother and father are gone for the day, I become both.

Freincise: I am a doctor that detects when a child is feeling sick,

Marlou: I am a politician that must know the laws and recognize a trick.

Freincise: I am party planner for holidays to celebrate with all,

Marlou: I am a decorator of a room, filling every wall.

Freincise: I am a news reporter updating our nation's current events,

Marlou: I am a detective solving small mysteries and ending all suspense.

Freincise: I am a clown and comedian that make the children laugh,

Marlou: I am a dietitian assuring they have lunch or from mine I give them half.
Freincise: When we seem to stray from our values, I become a preacher,

Marlou: But I'm proud to have to be these people because...

Marlou & Freincise: I'm proud to say, "I am a teacher."

GRAND ENTRANCE OF TEACHERS

Good morning everyone, our respected Principal sir, all the

loving teachers, and my dear friends. Today we are gathered
here to celebrate this amazing day to honor the
noblest profession in the world. Today we are here to
celebrate and honor the generous contribution of the teachers
to society and mankind. Today on the auspicious day of
teachers day we will thank all the teachers in this school and
in the whole world.

Freincise: Ladies and gentlemen we are gathered for the World Teacher’s Day Celebration for the
District of Maayon with the theme: “Guro: Kabalikat sa Pagbabago.” And so, to start with let us
put our hands together and shout our HURRAHS!! As we welcome the teachers of the District of
Maayon, both elementary and secondary, in their grand entrance.

Marlou: Starting with

(alternately call out the teachers in the District of Maayon)

Freincise: Please remain standing for the prayer, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem
and Capiz Hymn to be led by the Maayon Elementary School’s Cherubim’s, with Mr. Leo D.
Durana, music teacher, conducting.

PRAYER, SINGING OF THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM AND CAPIZ HYMN

Marlou: Thank you children and Sir Durana. According to Ralph Nader, “A leader has the vision
and conviction that a dream can be achieved. He inspires the power and energy to get it done.”
With this, may I call the Public Schools’ District Supervisor of the District of Maayon, Mr. Zaldy
B. Caalam for his welcome remarks.

SPEECH- MR. ZALDY CAALAM

Freincise: Thank you Sir Caalam. “Leaders are like eagles, they don’t fly with the flock: they
explore new heights and challenge themselves and others to soar beyond the norm.” This is how
we describe the next school head to deliver welcome remarks on behalf of the secondary schools in
the District of Maayon. Please welcome the Principal IV of Maayon National High School, Mrs.
Ma. Lea Ochavo-Dais.

SPEECH- MRS. MA. LEA O. DAIS

Marlou: Thank you very much Ma’am Dais. Someone once said “A teacher’s purpose is not to
create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own images.” To
pay tribute for the teachers, let us welcome the selected pupils of Maayon Elementary School.

TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS BY MAAYON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL’S PUPILS

Freincise: Thank you pupils for those affectionate tributes. According to Cicero “What nobler
employment, or more valuable to the state, than that of the man who instructs the rising
generation.” We believe this is the reason why despite his hectic schedule attending to many and
various affairs of the province, he spared his precious time to be with us in this memorable
occasion. Ladies and gentlemen the chief executive of the Province of Capiz Governor Antonio A.
Del Rosario in his message.

SPEECH OF GOVERNOR DEL ROSARIO

Marlou: Thank you very much Gov. Del Rosario for your great support to the Department of
Education in the Province of Capiz. Coming up is another public servant who considers education
as most valuable in the society. Let us welcome Cong. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones of the 1 st
District of Capiz in his message.

SPEECH OF CONGRESSMAN BILLONES

Freincise: Thank you very much Cong. Billones. Moving on we are also blessed to have with us
today our very own local chief executive of the Municipality of Maayon, Mayor Wilredo E.
Borres, Sr. in his message.

SPEECH OF MAYOR BORRES

Marlou: Thank you Mayor Borres. We also have today our Vice Mayor to deliver his message,
please welcome Vice Mayor Wildie C. Apolinario, Jr.

SPEECH OF VICE MAYOR APOLINARIO

Freincise: Thank you Vice Mayor Apolinario. Leadership in education is about learning - the
learning of others has to be at heart of the decision-making of any educational leader. Today we are
privileged to have with us the topnotch of Education in the Divison of Capiz to give us his
message. Ladies and gentlemen, let us all welcome the pride of Maayon, our very own, Dr. Miguel
Mac Dizon Aposin, CESO V, Schools’ Division Superintendent.

Marlou: Thank you Sir Aposin for that message. We also have with us our Assistant Schools’
Division Superintendent, to inspire our teachers, please welcome Mr. Nicasio S. Frio.

SPEECH OF MR. FRIO

Marlou: Thank you Sir Frio. The next speaker who will give tribute to teachers is another pride of
Maayon. He is recently awarded the regional winner of Presidential (Lingkod Bayan) Award of the
Civil Service’s 2016 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees. Ladies and
gentlemen, please welcome Dr. Marlon P. Destreza, Chief of the School Governance & Operations
Division of the Division of Capiz.

SPEECH OF DR. DESTREZA

Freincise: Thank you, Dr. Destreza. We are also pleased to have with us today, a lady who was
once a part of the DepEd Maayon Family and still, we believe, in her heart, continues to be a part
of the DepEd Maayon. Please welcome Dr. Segundina Flores- Dollete, the former principal IV of
Maayon National High School and now the Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division of
the Division of Capiz, in her message.

SPEECH OF DR. DOLLETE

Marlou: Thank you, Madam. Our next speaker is also a distinguished Maayonanon. He is a
true-blooded Maayonanon who will forever bring pride to his hometown. Please welcome our very
own Mr. Andres Diaz Quiachon, Education Program Supervisor in Science of the Division of
Capiz, in his message.

SPEECH OF MR. QUIACHON

Freincise: Thank you, Sir Quiachon. Thank you very much our public officials and DepEd
officials for your messages of tribute to our dear teachers. Let us give them a warm round of
applause. At this juncture the District Federation Officers of the Parents-Teachers’ Association of
the District of Maayon will also render their tributes to our teachers.

TRIBUTES BY PTA DISTRCT FEDERATION

Marlou: Thank you Maayon District PTA Federation Officers. At this time, we shall witness the
simultaneous sounding of bells and sirens from our town’s fire and PNP headquarters. Thank you
police and fire officers for your tributes to our dear teachers.

RINGING OF THE BELLS AND SIRENS

Freincise: There is nothing so great a tribute you can give to someone than bestowing the
blessings of heaven upon him or her. At this juncture, let us welcome the selected pupils and
students of Maayon Elementary School and Maayon National High School to lead the prayers for
teachers.

PRAYERS FOR TEACHERS

Marlou: Thank you pupils and students. Newton Baker said and I quote, “A schoolmaster should
have an atmosphere of awe, and walk wonderingly, as if he was amazed at being himself.” End
quote. Ladies and gentlemen, let us all welcome our teachers in their showcase of talents through
the Teachers Got Talent Part of this program.

TEACHERS GOT TALENT

Freincise: Thank you teachers for showcasing your various talents. Thank you for leading us to
the threshold of wisdom and thank you for your lifetime of service and commitment for the
betterment of humanity. This ends the first part of the program. Thank you everyone for coming
and may God bless us all.

Freincise & Marlou: Mabuhay ang mga Teachers!!!

Now it would be amazing if our loving Principal sir would enlighten us with

his/her thoughts and views about the teachers day. Give a big round of

applause for Mr. XYZ. He is a great teacher, who loves teaching and every

student enjoys his presence in the class.

Thank you so much, Principal sir, for your guidance and such lovely words.

We will always remember your advice and will try to live by it. Students are

always inspired by teachers and Gurus and some of such students are going to

present their thoughts and views. Students from junior classes are going to

talk about their favorite teacher and students from higher classes are going to

talk about the importance of a guru in our lives.

Thank you so much, guys, for such amazing thoughts. You showed us the
various perspectives of the life of a teacher. Now XYZ student will present the

vote of thanks to thanking each and everyone who is responsible for the

successful completion of this teachers day event. Now I would leave the stage

for XYZ. Thank you, everyone.
