Pampanga is known as the Culinary Capital of the Philippines. The province continues to prove
that it deserves to hold such an astounding title through showcasing both foreign and local cuisine with
authenticity and creativity. New American Cuisine is one of the most appreciated cookery among Filipinos.
As luck would have it, Pampanga houses restaurants that offer this type of cuisine. One of which is Green
kitchen.
Green Kitchen is a restaurant serving customers New American cuisine in the form of comfort
food. The restaurant currently has two branches established within Pampanga: one located in Walter Mart
Supermarket, and the other found in SM City Clark. Seeing as we live in San Fernando City, we visited the
restaurant on the ground floor of the Walter Mart Supermarket. The restaurant’s signage can be seen from
the supermarket’s exterior making it visible to the people as well as the vehicles passing by. The restaurant’s
opening hours are during 10am until 9pm.
Stepping inside the restaurant, one is welcomed with a relaxing ambiance. The dark, earthy colors
painted onto the walls combined with a lighting of warm colors coming from the pendant lights contribute
to the soothing atmosphere. It is fair to say that the size of the place, as well as the arrangement of the tables
and chairs are satisfying to the customers. The overall decorations inside the eatery are aesthetically
pleasing and ‘Instagram-worthy.’ The act of thoughtfulness and kindness the waiters have shown us are
qualities they are to be admired for. During our visit in the restaurant, we asked one of the waiters of they
would allow us to film a vlog. They said it was okay and they turned the background music off.
The restaurant’s menu provides customers a variety of delicious meals to choose from. They offer
Tex-Mex dishes such as Fajitas, Japanese food such as Chicken Teriyaki, Western dishes like Seafood Au
Gratin and a variety of steaks. They also offer a few cakes and pastries as dessert. Although the prices range
from ₱200 to ₱420, the price is reasonable since the quality and amount of food is enough to satisfy one’s
stomach. The food is served within 10 to 15 minutes after ordering, served in a hot sizzling plate. Green
Kitchen cooks most of its dishes the “Ishiyaki” way or hot stone cooking method.
This is a restaurant we recommend everyone to try for their excellent service and flavorsome dishes.
We’d give Green Kitchen a general rating of 9/10. To make the restaurant less troublesome to those who
wish to try the food but are on a budget, we recommend the restaurant to lower the price on the beverages
since we ourselves thought that they were a bit too expensive. Nonetheless, we can say that Green Kitchen
is a restaurant that customers will want to go back to.
