Authors intent
• The Author tries to relate the story with the life of every man in the society .
The author describes ,how we dream about following our passion during
our childhood , and the way we drift ourselves from our passion because
of social factors and parent’s insistence.

• The boy in the story persists with his dream in the midst of adversity, and
he even sways himself from the gratifying feeling of love.

• The Author gives a perfect example of following one’s passion , no matter

what kind of obstacles come in their way.
About the writing
• Coelho’s writing is one to be praised . he indulges the reader into the world
of alchemist .His writing from the part , where the boy starts travelling with
the Englishman , along the desert takes an upraise and is laudable.

• The description of Omens , makes us believe in them . He uses the boy’s

encounter with the King ,and makes the reader get a clarity about their
meeting in the later part of the book.

• The depiction of boy’s conversation with the natural elements is one of the
major highlights in the book . The manner in which those natural elements
were personified is creditable.
Final verdict
• Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist” is a book to be read and savoured for
generations . We can relate the story of the boy to the common lives of
people in the society.

• This book is an amazing tale of a boy pursuing his dream , confronting all
the hurdles that come along in his way . He could have worked under the
crystal merchant and earned money , instead he set out to follow his dream.

• Loving the profession we do , is the secret for enduring happiness.

• There is a quote where the camel driver says ,”Because I don’t
live in either my past or my future . I’m interested only in the
present , if you can concentrate only on the present , you’ll be a
happy man ,” which can be related to the current younger
generation , who concentrate only on the result than the process.

• You’ll never get bored or feel any kind of lag , when you are
reading this book.
