Lab Report Grading Rubric

The rubric grades lab reports on four criteria: summary, results, conclusion, and organization. For the summary section, excellent reports provide a concise description of each experiment's purpose and how the experiments will achieve the purpose without extra details. In the results section, excellent reports include all required tables, graphs, and figure legends with clear labeling and units to easily show the displayed data. For the conclusion section, excellent reports concisely state the overall conclusions, whether the purpose was successful or why it was not, what should have been found and why, possible errors, future questions, and answers to all questions from the lab exercise. Excellent reports are logically organized with proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation for easy comprehension.
