Upgrading an Existing Version of the Software
Important
You must have the Kodak SECURE LINK CLIENT SOFTWARE on your LAPTOP. See the INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS for the Kodak SECURE LINK CLIENT SOFTWARE, Version 1.2.2, 6F8022.
[1] Are you upgrading an existing version of the software?
Yes No
Continue with Step 2. Advance to “Executing the Correct File” on Page 4.
[2] Double-click:
• “My Computer” icon
• “LOCALDISK (C:)”
• “Program Files”
• “KODAK”
• “WebLink”
[3] Right-click the “LogViewer.dll” file.
[4] Select “Properties”.

[5] Select the “Version” tab.

[6] Select “Product Version”.
[7] Does “2.0.b5” display in the “Value” field?
Yes No
Advance to “Executing the Correct File” on Page 4. Continue with Step 8 on Page 4.

[8] Remove the existing version of software.

(a) Select Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
(b) Double-click the “Change or Remove Programs” icon.
(c) Select “Kodak WebLink Client”.
(d) Click [Remove].
Executing the Correct File

[1] Check that the INSTALLER software is correctly installed.
(a) Insert the CD into the CD-ROM DRIVE.
(b) Select Start>Run.
(c) Click [Browse].
(d) Select the name of the CD-ROM DRIVE.
(e) Execute the correct file for the OPERATING SYSTEM:
• For the Microsoft Windows 98 OPERATING SYSTEM, select “InstMSIA.exe”.
• For the Microsoft Windows NT OPERATING SYSTEM or Microsoft Windows 2000 OPERATING
SYSTEM, select “InstMSIW.exe”.
(f) Click:
• [Open]
• [OK]
[2] Does the “The specified service already exists” message display?
Yes No
a. Click [OK]. a. Do the instructions on the “INSTALLER” screen.

Setting the Configuration Parameters
[1] Select Start>Programs>Internet Explorer.
[2] At the “Tools” drop-down menu, select “Internet Options”.
[3] Select the “Security” tab.

[4] Double-click the “Local intranet” icon.
[5] Click [Custom Level].

[6] At “Download signed ActiveX controls”, select “Enable”.

[7] At “Download unsigned ActiveX controls”, select “Prompt”.
[8] At “Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe”, select “Prompt”.
[9] At “Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins”, select “Enable”.

[10] At “Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting”, select “Enable”.

Important
The “Allow per-session cookies (not stored)” option is not available on all versions.
[11] At “Allow per-session cookies (not stored)”, select “Enable”.
[12] At “Userdata persistence”, select “Enable”.
[13] Click:
• [OK]
• [Yes]
[14] Is the computer a Dell Latitude D600 LAPTOP?
Yes No
Continue with Step 15 on Page 8. Advance to “Installing the Software” on Page 9.

[15] Select the “Security” tab.

[16] Double-click the “Trusted Sites” icon.
[17] Click [Sites].
[18] In the “Add this Web site to the zone” field, type: http://localhost
[19] Click:
• [Add]
• [OK]
• [OK]

Installing the Software
[1] From the CD-ROM, double-click the “Kodak WebLink 2.0.msi” file.
[2] Click [Next].
[3] Click:
• “I accept the license agreement”
• [Next]

[4] Click [Finish].

[5] Remove the CD from the CD-ROM DRIVE.
[6] Select Start>Programs>Kodak>SecureLink.
[7] Enter your password.

[8] Click [OK].

[9] Enter the information for the site:
• “Server”
• “IP Address”
• “Port”
[10] Click:.
• [Save Server]
• [Connect]
[11] Select Start>Programs>Kodak>Service WebLink.

[12] If the “Security Warning” window appears, click [Yes].
Checking the Operation
[1] Click any folder from the “CMI 1000” menu.

[2] Check that the folder opens.
