1. Uses of CG in other field (give one example).

Helps, benefits, and its

contribution to that field.

One use of CG in the field of medicine is Drug design, often referred to as

rational drug design or simply rational design, is the inventive process of finding new
medications based on the knowledge of a biological target. The drug is most commonly
an organic small molecule that activates or inhibits the function of a biomolecule such
as a protein, which in turn results in a therapeutic benefit to the patient. In the most
basic sense, drug design involves the design of molecules that are complementary in
shape and charge to the biomolecular target with which they interact and therefore will
bind to it. Drug design frequently but not necessarily relies on computer modeling
techniques. This type of modeling is sometimes referred to as computer-aided drug
design. Finally, drug design that relies on the knowledge of the three-dimensional
structure of the biomolecular target is known as structure-based drug design. In addition
to small molecules, biopharmaceuticals including peptides and especially therapeutic
antibodies are an increasingly important class of drugs and computational methods for
improving the affinity, selectivity, and stability of these protein-based therapeutics have
also been developed.
2. What is a Graphics Processing Unit?

A high-performance 3D processor that integrates the entire 3D pipeline

(transformation, lighting, setup, and rendering). A GPU offloads all 3D calculations from
the CPU, freeing the CPU for other functions such as physics and artificial intelligence.
3. What is GPU Design ?
A graphics processing unit (GPU) is a processor like CPU and TPU for faster
graphics processing. Specifically, it designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to
accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer to be displayed on a screen.
The parallel structure of a GPU makes it more efficient for algorithms where several
components can be executed in parallel such as Machine Learning algorithms/
inference.
4. Give a GPU Designer and Indicate important background and information and
most significant things they did.

Nvidia Corporation
-is an American technology company
incorporated in Delaware and based in Santa
Clara, California. It designs graphics processing
units (GPUs) for the gaming and professional
markets, as well as system on a chip units (SoCs)
for the mobile computing and automotive market. Its primary GPU product line, labeled
"GeForce", is in direct competition with Advanced Micro Devices' (AMD) "Radeon"
products. Nvidia expanded its presence in the gaming industry with its handheld Shield
Portable, Shield Tablet and Shield Android TV.
 The birth of an industry
- Founders Jen-Hsun Huang, Christopher Malachowsky, and Curtis Priem
hatched the idea that became NVIDIA at a Denny's in San Jose in 1993 over
coffee. The modern graphics processor didn't exist then. Huang was an avid
gamer, and they believed there was a vast opportunity to improve upon the
rudimentary graphics available on PCs of the day.

 The term GPU has been used from at least the 1980s, it was popularized by Nvidia in
1999, who marketed the GeForce 256 as "the world's first GPU". It was presented as
a "single-chip processor with integrated transform, lighting, triangle setup/clipping,
and rendering engines".
5. Dark Cloud
- is an action role-playing video game
developed by Level-5 and published by
Sony Computer Entertainment for the
PlayStation 2
PLAYSTATION 2
- The PlayStation 2 (PS2) is a home
video game console that was
developed by Sony Computer
Entertainment. It is the successor to the
original PlayStation console and is the
second iteration in the PlayStation
lineup of consoles. It was released in
2000 and competed with Sega's
Dreamcast, Nintendo's GameCube and
Microsoft's Xbox in the sixth generation
of video game consoles.
- PlayStation 2 software is distributed on
CD-ROM and DVD-ROM. In addition the console can play audio CDs and
DVD movies, and is backwards compatible with PlayStation games. The PS2
also supports PlayStation memory cards and controllers, although original
PlayStation memory cards only work with original PlayStation games and the
controllers may not support all functions (such as analog buttons) for PS2
games.
- The standard PlayStation 2 memory card has an 8 MB capacity. There are a
variety of non-Sony manufactured memory cards available for the PlayStation
2, allowing for a memory capacity larger than the standard 8 MB.

- The console also features USB and IEEE 1394 (Firewire) expansion ports. A
hard disk drive can be installed in an expansion bay on the back of the
console, and is required to play certain games, notably the popular Final
Fantasy XI. This is only available on certain models.

- The hardware uses the Emotion Engine CPU, a custom-designed processor

based on the MIPS architecture with a floating point performance of 6.2
GFLOPS, and the custom-designed Graphics Synthesizer GPU, with a fillrate
of 2.4 gigapixels/second, capable of rendering up to 75 million polygons per
second. When accounting for features such as lighting, texture mapping,
artificial intelligence, and game physics, it has a real-world performance of 3
million to 16 million polygons per second.
