PART 2: NARRATIVE REPORT

2.1 Objective of the Project
 To help the Department of Education as DepEd Procured Institution in bringing the Alternative
Learning System to all clienteles (out of school youth and adults) who have not yet gained
certification of completion in the elementary and junior high school levels. La Filipina NHS
BPOSA, scheduled its learning session on a Sunday in order to serve and more learners
2.2 Highlights on the Primary/Initial Activities
2.2.1 Advocacy and Social Mobilization
 We have partnered with Barangay La Filipina Council in the Advocacy and Social Mobilization
enabling us to campaign ALS during Purok Assemblies which are participated by all members
of the purok. Also, we have connected and build ties with the Sangguniang Kabataan of La
Filipina and neighboring barangays to campaign and advocate this system as well.
 Changing the weekly schedule to Sunday also helped in encouraging potential learners to
enroll.
 Having also a Facebook Page for the LFNHS ALS makes us accessible online for those learners
who have inquired online and are seeking for learning centers.
2.2.2 Establishment of Learning Centers
 Since ALS has been inclusively integrated to schools in 2014, La Filipina NHS since then is an
active learning center and has Instructional Managers (IMs) and a School ALS Coordinator
(SALSC). Having this setup, the school has no difficulty as it re-establish itself as a BPOSA
School succeeding her mother school, Tagum City National High School in 2018.
 For 2019, few of the IMs requested to be replaced due to varying reasons such as continuing
education and promotion. Nonetheless, the School Coordinator, Mr. Eugene S. Abuloc,
remained since his designation in 2016.

 In May 2019, the LFNHS has a new classroom as a school based functional learning center for
ALS.
 During the schedule of Oplan Balik Skwela, ALS IMs also started facilitating the enrollment of
learners together with the conduct of the Functional Literacy Test (FLT).
 Orientation of the ALS Ins and Outs and the whole program benefits and goals and School
Policies was conducted on June 9, 2019.
 Orientation on Portfolio and other Forms for ALS is postponed and will be schedule after the
conduct of the Regional Mass Training of Teachers for ALS.
 Also, learners’ identification card, as allotted by the school MOOE, had been facilitated.
2.2.3 Conduct of Learning Activities
 Since within the first two month of operation, all learning centers are required to implement
the ALS Life Skills Curriculum, the following things were implemented:
1. Personality Development Seminar
2. Interpersonal Communication Seminar
3. Leadership and Team Building / Election of ALS SSG Officers
4. Work Habits Seminar
5. Safety and Health Seminar
6. Rights and Responsibility Seminar
7. Civic Engagement Seminar
8. Financial Fitness Seminar
9. Exploring Entrepreneurship Seminar
2.2.4 Monitoring and Evaluation
 Monitoring of learners progress was through the ALS ROAD MAP. This is a tool used by the IMs
in assessing the participation rate of students in the seminars for IMs and speakers signed this
map until they end up finishing all tasks.
2.2.5 Other Activities Conducted
 Bayanihan with SK La Filipina
 Fielding Activity to Parishes and Churches nearby to ask for the meaning of Faith
