    (HINUNANGAN, SOUTHERN LEYTE)

    Among the entire municipality under the province of Southern Leyte, Hinunangan is a
    veritable paradise for any adventurer or any person who wants to have a serene white sand beach.
    This town is now in progress of becoming a must-visit place in Region 8 because of its beautiful
    sandy beaches and relatively untouched tropical islands.

    The town is a producer of rattan and wood-based furnitures, abaca handicrafted items,
    pineapple, vegetables, other forest products, and bamboo furnitures. It has a potential for mineral
    water and root crop processing and copper mining.

    The town has a lot of attractions, like Tahusan, Talisay or the Twin Islands, San Pedro
    (Pong Dako) and San Pablo (Pong Gamay) also known as Cabugan Grande and Cabugan Chico as
    Pigafetta stated in his account during their travel with Magellan. It is also a place far from cities
    but it is one the first places in the province where mobile technology was put in. There are also
    hotels, inns, a public market and beach resorts. Hinunangan has seen significant progress in terms
    of infrastructure, economy, productivity and improved standards of living.

    There are many positive impacts in the economic development through tourism and
    hospitality industry.

    OPPORTUNITIES OF DRAWING IN INVESTORS IN THE BUSINESS SECTOR OF THE


    MUNICIPALITY

    With these tourist spots and other sources of income, it gives new doors to opportunities
    of attracting executives to invest within the area because of the increasing number of visitors who
    would visit the places that Hinunangan is proud of.

    INCREASE OF PROFITS OF THE BUSINESS SECTOR

    The fact that the rate of visitors exploring the beauty of Hinunangan proves that the profits
    of the businesses present increases by 50% to which will help the municipality through tax
    remittances.
    INCREASE OF LOCAL FUNDS AND TAX REMITTANCES OF THE LOCAL
    GOVERNMENT UNIT

    It would be known that if there is an increase of profits in the business sector, then it follows
    immediately that the tax remittances also increases. Hence, taxes being the life and blood of the
    government, an increase of such means greater opportunities for the municipality in terms of
    projects.

    SLIGHT DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURES

    Since Hinunangan’s tourist spots are more on beaches, those islands will be able to have
    their structures developed to stay overnight and may add other amenities to meet the needs of the
    customers

    MARGINAL INCREASE OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

    If the number of visitors increases each year, it opens new doors to business sectors to open
    new business establishments. With these effects, it increase the rate of employment opportunities
    since it requires employees to make a certain business successful.

    With these positive impacts, it shows that the Municipality of Hinunangan will become
    progressive. The restaurants, tourism, and hotels contributed in making the opportunities easy to
    achieve.
