Aimcat 1805 Exp Review

The AIMCAT 1805 exam surprised many test takers with unexpected changes to question distributions and difficulty levels across sections. The verbal ability section contained difficult questions that relied more on intelligence than preparation. The data interpretation and logical reasoning section posed greater challenges than prior exams due to fewer and harder questions. In contrast, the quantitative ability section provided the most easy-to-medium level problems, allowing students to attempt over 20 questions. Overall, the exam tested students' consistency, composure, and the depth of their preparation.

AIMCAT 1805

AIMCAT 1805 Analysis

AIMCAT1805 in terms of difficulty, would have shaken up many of the test

takers as it threw many surprises in various sections. Another permutation on
the total number of questions - section wise as well as overall - just to ensure
that the students are well equipped for any eventualities on the final day. In
short, this AIMCAT would have tested most of the students on their
consistency, nerves, intelligence and all the hard work they have put in over
last so many months.

Let us now take a brief look at each section of the paper:

Section I - VERBAL ABILITY & READING COMPREHENSION

The VARC section had 40 questions in all with 24 questions in RC and 16 in VA.
A relatively high weight-age of 40% was given to this particular section.

From four passages, we had six questions from each. In terms of diffculty
level, RCs were relatively easier though they weere a little lengthier. The
content in this sub-section would also not have troubled the students much.
The length varied from about 700 words to a little over 900 words. A patient
and careful reading of the passages would have reaped rich dividends in case
of Rcs.

The VA sub-section unlike RCs didn't have much to offer and most of the
students would have found many of the questions as difficult ones only.
Students who relied heavily on VA would have done it at the expense of
relatively easier RC passages where scoring was comparatively easier.

In terms of difficulty, question number 25, 27, 28, 29, 31, 33, 34 were the
ones under easy/medium category.

Section II - DATA INTERPRETATION & LOGICAL ABILITY

With fewer number of questions and higher difficulty level as compared to the
previous few AIMCATs, many of the students would have struggled in this
section. In terms of difficulty, most of the questions were difficult ones.

Both the DI and LR were almost similar in difficulty level. The standard data
arrangement, distribution, Venn diagram, set based on Games, etc was the
theme of this particular AIMCAT. Except question 11, 14, 21, 23, 24, 25, the
remaining questions fell under difficult to vary difficult category. All in all, it

was purely dependent on one's ability to filter out the easier ones first and
then a few tougher ones to score over the rest.

Section III - QUANTITATIVE ABILITY

Among the three sections, it was QA which had maximum number of easy
questions. Again with fewer number of questions and most of them relatively
easier ones, attempting 20+ questions should not have been a difficult task for
a serious candidate. With around 25 questions in the easy-medium category,
many of the students would definitely have taken an advantage to the fullest.
A good mix of conceptual, calculative and sitters, a serious candidate would
definitely have done pretty well in this section.

In terms of difficulty, question number 5, 13, 17, 20, 21, 24 were the only
difficult ones and the remaining problems were easy to medium picks.
