Informatica Cloud

The runtime environment executes tasks and can be either the Informatica Cloud Hosted Agent or a Secure Agent group. A Secure Agent is a lightweight program that runs tasks, collects metadata, and enables secure communication between Informatica services and an organization or cloud. Runtime environment

The execution platform that run tasks. A runtime environment is either the Informatica Cloud Hosted Agent
or a Secure Agent group. You must have at least one runtime environment in each organization so that users
in the organization can run tasks.

Secure Agent
A lightweight program that runs tasks and collects metadata for Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services. A
Secure Agent enables secure communication across the firewall between Informatica Intelligent Cloud
Services and your organization or a cloud computing services environment. A Secure Agent runs within a
Secure Agent group.

Lightweight, self-upgrading program that runs on a machine inside your network.

It is responsible for moving the data from source to target.

It will take care of extracting the database or application info behind the firewall and main important thing is
it doesn’t stage the data or run in the informatica cloud server.

Local agent is the one which will take care of running the tasks which is inside your firewall to secure the
data.
