A student borrowed a book about water skiing from the library. When she went to return it, she was afraid because while reading it during a water skiing trip, the book had become damaged. She tried to sneakily return it when the librarian wasn't looking. When confronted by the librarian about the damaged book, the student lied and said her brother had pulled the book while she was reading and damaged it. The librarian consulted with the senior librarian who said the student would need to pay a 90,000 Rupiah fine for the late return and damage, which the student agreed to pay.

“Water and Books do not Mix!”

Place : Your local library


Time : 5 p.m
Actress : Sri Rahayu Siregar (as a librarian)
Aulia Sylvia Devana Pane (as a narator)
Pauji Marwiyah Nasution (as a librarian)
Nur Wahidah Siregar (as a reader)
Dewi Sartika Matondang (as a borrower)
Nur Habibah Siregar (as a senior librarian)
Rizki Khairani Dalimunte (as a reader)
Ainun Mardiah (as borrower)
Situation : You are returning a book about water-skiing that you borrowed for a recent
holiday. Unfortunately the book has been damaged because you were reading
it whilst water-skiing
Scenes :
1. You try to return the book when the librarian is not looking
2. You have to explain to the librarian why the book is damaged and who
damaged it (you can be an imaginative liar!)
3. The librarian goes to ask senior librarian for advice about how much you
should be charged for the damaged, then returns
One day, there was a student borrowed a book. It was about Water-skiing. She wanna
try to return the book. But, she is afraid to return it because the book has been damaged.
Because she was reading it whilst water-skiing. After that, she found some idea how to return
the book. She goes to the library with her friend and try to return it.

When they were in the library, the librarian was not looking…
Ainun : How can you make it be damaged?
Dewi : Actually, my drink fell when I was reading it. And when I was cleaning my
book, my pet jumped to my book and my book was damaged. 
Ainun : Oh My God! How indecent you are!
Dewi : So that’s why, I’m afraid to return the book. And one more, time is up to
return it.
Ainun : Oh, it’s so bad. So, what will you say to the librarian if they ask about your
book? Will you be honest? If you are honest, it will make you to pay it.
Dewi : No, no, no, no… I won’t do it.
Ainun : Trust me, it will happen!
Dewi : No. Let’s we try.

When they are in the library….


Ainun : Where are the librarians?
Dewi : No librarian here. I think it will be better if I don’t return it back.
Ainun : Why you say like that? You will get more fine if you don’t return it back.
Dewi : Really?
Wahidah : Sshhhh! I’m trying to read!
Rizki : They are so noisy.
Dewi : Oh, I’m sorry.
Sri : What happen? Why do you make noise here? This place is for reading. Not
for fighting.
Ainun : Miss, my friend wants to return back her book. But, she is afraid because the
book has been damaged.
Sri : How can??
Dewi : My young brother, Miss.. Umm… What is it… He pulled my book when I
was reading. So, it is damaged..
Sri : Ok… But, time is up to return it back. Wait a moment please. I want to ask
the senior librarian…
Dewi : Ok Miss.

And then, the librarian goes and asks to the senior librarian for advice about how much
she should be charged for the damaged…
Sri : Miss, I’m sorry I take your time
Habibah : No problem. What’s wrong?
Sri : There is a student, she borrowed a book and it was damaged. Would you like
to give her advice about how much she should be charged for the damage?
Habibah : Of course. Where is she?
Sri : She’s over there.

The senior librarian goes to meet her…


Habibah : Are they?
Sri : Yes, they are.
Habibah : Ok honey, because of the book has been damaged and the time to return it
back has been over, you should be charged Rp. 90.000,- for the fine. And you must be
promise, if you will not do it anymore.
Dewi : Ok Miss. I’ll pay it early.

Finally, the librarian received the book with the damage. And the borrower will pay it
early . And the borrower promise, if she won’t do it anymore. And she will be a good
borrower 
