This document outlines a lesson plan for a Grade 12 class on identifying different text structures in academic texts. The objectives are for students to be able to identify, appreciate, and use different text structures. Students will participate in a paper strips activity to determine the structure of short passages and create visual representations. They will then analyze the activity, discuss the differences between structures, and the importance of understanding structures. Finally, students will complete an application activity by identifying the structure of given passages and organizing key information from the passages into graphic organizers.
