JOIN HANDS WITH CVPPPL IN ENERGISING INDIA THROUGH GATE-2020

Chenab Valley Power Projects [P] Limited (CVPPPL), a Joint Venture Company among NHPC (A Govt. of
India Enterprise) (49%), JKSPDC (A Govt. of J&K Undertaking) (49%), and PTC India Ltd. (2%), formed at the
initiative of Government of J&K and Government of India to harness the vast hydro potential of river Chenab
was incorporated on 13.06.2011 with an authorised share capital of Rs. 3500 crores as on date. CVPPPL has
been entrusted with execution of Pakal Dul, Kiru, Kwar and Dul Hasti (Stage-II) Hydroelectric Projects in Chenab
River Basin, Distt. Kishtwar (J&K) with an aggregate capacity of 2714 MW. The Company intends to recruit
45 Trainee Engineers (Civil) for its Project sites through GATE-2020 in 03-phases. However, in the first Phase,
recruitment shall be made for 20 vacancies as per the details given below:

AGE CRITERIA:

The age of a candidate for applying for the above mentioned post should not be less than 18 years and not more
than 40 years as on 31.12.2019.

CAREER GROWTH:
Candidates inducted in E-1 grade in the pay scale of 40000-3%-140000 (IDA) shall be under Training for one year
which may be extended if required, as per the company Rules. On successful completion of the training period of
01 (one) year, the incumbents shall be placed as Engineer in E-2 grade in the pay scale of
Rs. 50000-3%-160000 (IDA) with probation period of one year which may be extended, if required, as per the
company Rules.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

The Compensation package includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance on Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA)
pattern, Perquisites and Allowance as per Cafeteria Allowance, Company Quarters or HRA, PF, Gratuity, Group
Personal Accident Insurance, Medical Facilities etc.

PLACEMENT:

The selected candidates will be posted at any of the Projects of the Company.

SERVICE AGREEMENT BOND:

Candidates selected as Trainee Engineer (Civil) will have to execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve the
company for a period of 04-years including the period spent as Trainee as shown under:

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process for recruitment for the post of Trainee Engineer (Civil) shall be as follows:
 The interested candidates shall be required to apply and appear in the GATE-2020 examination scheduled to
be held in the month of Feb, 2020, the online registration for which is to be done w.e.f 03.09.2019 till 01.10.2019
as per the details given below:

 The candidate is required to apply for the post of Trainee Engineer (Civil) through the CVPPPL online
application portal, the link for which shall be available on CVPPPL website (www.cvppindia.com) w.e.f
01.01.2020 (1200 Hrs) till 31.01.2020 (Midnight).

 Only those candidates shall be considered for shortlisting, who apply for recruitment in CVPPPL and have
successfully qualified GATE-2020. The shortlisting shall be in the order of merit on the basis of GATE-2020
scores.
 As per CVPPPL Promoters Agreement, 49% of employees shall be permanent residents of J&K, subject to
their suitability, availability and eligibility.
 The candidates shortlisted as per the advertised vacancies and merit of GATE-2020 scores, shall be selected
provisionally and issued “offer of appointment” accordingly. The appointment, however, shall be subject to all
the testimonials being verified through proper channels and found to be correct.

 RESERVATION AND RELAXATION:
1. The reservation and relaxation for SC / ST / OBC-(NCL) / EWS / PwD (Degree of disability of 40% and
above) / Ex-Serviceman / J&K Domicile shall be as per Government of India Norms & Directives.
2. The SC / ST / PwD (persons with Disabilities) candidates with minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination
are eligible to apply.
3. Candidates belonging to the Project Affected Families (PAF) of CVPPPL with minimum 55% marks in
qualifying examination are eligible to apply. *
4. In addition to the maximum age prescribed for the post; following categories of candidates shall be entitled

NOTE:
1. *Candidates belonging to Project Affected Families have to produce a certificate issued by the concerned state

2. **Any applicant intending to avail relaxation under this category shall have to submit a certificate from the
District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction she/he had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated
in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that she/he had ordinarily been domiciled in
the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 – 31.12.1989.

3. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under Creamy layer shall not be entitled to the benefits
of OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as Unreserved while filling online application.

CUT-OFF SCORE:

Candidates having registered with CVPPPL and qualified GATE-2020 shall be shortlisted as per the requirement
in the order of merit (GATE-2020 score) and also keeping in view the provisions of CVPPPL Promoter’s
Agreement.

OFFER OF APPOINTMENT:

i) On completion of the selection process, candidates shortlisted will be issued offer of appointment
keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy and other guidelines issued by Govt.
of India.
ii) In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order shall be decided as
per date of birth (the candidate senior in age shall be placed before/ above the candidate junior in
age). If there is a tie even after this, then candidate belonging to J&K shall be given preference.

 iii) In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that, the candidate does not satisfy
the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature/ chance in the process shall stand forfeited.
iv) In case the selected candidate leaves the Company during the period of four years, he/she shall have
to deposit the bond amount stipulated above at Service Agreement Bond before leaving the Company.
v) No person shall be eligible for appointment who had previously been dismissed or compulsorily retired
from the service of a Company or from a Department of a State or the Central Government or from any
Public Sector Undertaking.
vi) No person shall be eligible for appointment who has been convicted in a Court of law for any offence
involving moral turpitude.
vii) Selected candidates shall be posted only at any of the Projects of the Chenab Valley Power Projects [P]
Ltd.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE POST OF TRAINEE ENGINEER (Civil) in CVPPPL:

1. Only those Candidates who have registered with GATE-2020 and possess a valid GATE-2020 registration
number can register online in Careers (job opportunities) section of CVPPPLs website
www.cvpppindia.com against recruitment advertisement no. CVPPPL/HR/Rectt/2019/02.

2. The candidates are required to read the instructions carefully and fill-in the online application giving
accurate information including GATE-2020 registration number. After filling the details, the system will
generate a Unique Registration Number (URN) of CVPPPL. The registration process shall be open from
1200 hours on 01.01.2020 up to midnight of 31.01.2020. Before applying online, candidates should—

i) Scan their recent passport size photograph (not more than 03 months old) ensuring that the size
should not exceed 50KB and signature ensuring that the size should not exceed 20KB.

ii) Scan the required Certificates / Documents. (As per Sl. No. 4 of procedure to be uploaded for applying
online). The scanned copies should be readable, otherwise the candidature shall be treated as
rejected.

iii) Have a valid e-mail ID and Mobile number, which should be kept active till the completion of this round
of Recruitment Process. CVPPPL shall make all necessary communications through the registered
e-mail ID / SMS only.

APPLICATION FEE:

Male candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR) and OBC categories shall be required to pay an online

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING ONLINE:

1. Candidates are first required to visit the CVPPPLs website www.cvppindia.com and click on the careers (job
opportunity) section.

2. Download the detailed advertisement and read the instructions mentioned therein very carefully.

3. Fill-in the online application form with requisite details and submit the application.

4. Scanned copies of the following documents should be kept ready and uploaded in the online portal:

 Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate / Std. X Certificate with DOB).

 Complete set of Mark sheets / certificates for educational qualifications from Std. X onwards.
 Copy of GATE-2020 Admit card / Registration form.
 A certificate for conversion of grades / CGPA to percentage of marks issued by the University / Institution
from where the concerned has obtained the degree.
 *No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued in favour of the Candidate employed with Govt. departments /
PSUs / Autonomous bodies.
 *Caste Certificate issued by competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by Government of
India in case of SC / ST / OBC / EWS category candidates.

 *The OBC caste certificate containing the Non-creamy layer clause should be valid and issued not before
01.04.2019. Name of the caste mentioned in certificate should tally with Central Government list /
notification.
 *Document(s) in support of Ex-serviceman / Persons with Disability (PwD) certificate in prescribed format
issued by the concerned Competent Authority.

 *Certificate from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction she/he had ordinarily resided or any other
authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir to the effect that she/he had ordinarily

Project Affected Family (PAF) of CVPPPL.

5. Take out the print-out of the registration slip / form generated by the system for future reference.

Note: Application registered with invalid GATE registration number / without / incomplete documents, photograph and
signature, inhuman / inappropriate photograph and / or signature in the online application form will be summarily rejected.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Eligible candidates interested in joining CVPPPL as Trainee Engineer (Civil) in 2020 against
advertisement no CVPPPL/HR/Rectt/2019/02 are required to appear in GATE-2020. Final year appearing
students in the academic session 2019-2020 are not eligible. Only Graduate Engineers in Civil discipline
with minimum eligibility qualification attained before 31.12.2019, can apply online at website
www.cvpppindia.com.

4. Before applying for the mentioned posts, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and
other norms mentioned in this advertisement. Candidates are therefore advised to carefully read this
advertisement and follow all the instructions given for submitting online application.
5. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the online application themselves as no change in any of the
data filled in the online application will be possible/ entertained after FINAL SUBMISSION of application.

6. The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be

8. If the online transaction has not successfully been completed, then the candidate should make the
payment again. If the payment is successful but payment status is other than “Success with transaction
ID number” candidates are advised to check whether the balance has been deducted from their account

9. Only GATE-2020 score is valid for the recruitment exercise. GATE score of 2019 or prior is not valid.

10. Candidate is required to obtain requisite marks / grade in minimum qualification prescribed for the post,
taking average of all the semesters / years, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular semester
/ year by the Institute, University.
11. Caste Certificate shall be in-line with the proforma issued by the concerned Govt.
12. No representation will be entertained for relaxation of prescribed qualification in any circumstances.
13. Internal candidates having requisite qualifications are also eligible to apply.
14. Candidate has to apply online only. No manual / paper application will be entertained.
15. The date of declaration of result / issuance of Marks sheet shall be deemed to be the date of acquiring
the qualification and there shall be no relaxation on this account.
16. Candidature of the registered candidate is liable to be rejected at any stage of recruitment process or
after selection / joining in the event of any information provided by the candidate is found to be false or is
not found in conformity with the eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
17. Candidates are advised to keep their e-mail ID active for at least 01-year. No change in e-mail ID will be

18. Candidates are required to submit a Certificate from the Principal, stating that the candidate has passed
the course on full time / regular basis (except AMIE) certified by the University / institution from where the

version will prevail.
20. CVPPPL reserves the right to cancel / modify / restrict / enlarge / alter recruitment process without issuing
any further notice or assigning reason thereof.

(cancel / modify / add) any of the criteria, method of selection and appointment etc.
22. Any canvassing or bringing influence directly or indirectly, for undue advantage shall lead to
disqualification from the process.
23. Any dispute arising out of this advertisement including the recruitment process shall be subject to the sole
jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Jammu only.
24. Appointment o f candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit, as per any other
