Packet tracer is an existing network design, simulation and modeling and the visualization tool that
allows you to develop your skill set in networking, cyber security and the internet of things(IoT),
Build network from scratch, work on pre-built sample labs, test new network designs, and examine
data/packet flowing through a network.
USER INTERFACE:
DEVICE CONFIGURATION:
Once the network has been created, it must be configured of the devices and components.
SIMULATION MODE:
This mode allows us to verify device connectivity and to study how the various types of data traverses
your network.
Default mode of packet tracer is realtime mode. In realtime mode time is continuously running as
indicated by the clock in the lower right corner
PDU is a protocol data unit. It is a message type that is going to be transferring between
Network devices.
In simulation mode we can create PDU to have traffic control, and we can visualize the traffic
movement (IPv4,IPv6).
Creating messages that move from source to the destination in the networking devices.
Default mode of the packet tracer is realtime mode.
The contents of the PDU can be viewed in OSI model(we can view it as seven layers of OSI
model), we can see the summary of the addresses and contents of the headers at each layer.
In this we have source IP address and the destination IP address
Inlayer and out layers as source and the destination respectively.
