What are the advantages and disadvantages of

playing computer games?


The computer is a useful machine and nowadays it is important to many people.
Children especially love to use the computer and they are spending more and more
time on it. They get many benefits from the computer but it can also be dangerous
for them.
On one hand, children learn a lot of things from computers and the Internet. They
learn about people in different countries, they play games that help them learn to
read and write and they get information for school projects. They can read stories
on the computer and save information. The Internet connects them to other people.
When a child is bored he can go on the computer. Computers make children smart.
On the other hand, the computer can have a negative effect on children. They may
see bad things, like videos and chat rooms that are meant for older people. This can
cause the children to have bad behaviour and to hate school. It takes up a lot of
free-time and it keeps them from homework and they no longer want to pray and
read the Quran and sit with their families. Also, sitting at the computer for a long
time is harmful to the eyes, making them red and harming the sight.
In conclusion, there are both good and bad things about computers and the Internet.
Parents should take good care when their children are using the Internet. They
should supervise their children to make sure they do not go to bad web sites. I
think it is good if children use it for a short time, so parents should not let the
children sit at the computer for too long. They should teach their children to use
the computer in a good way. I advise people to use computers well so that they will
give us a great country and a great world.
