Concept Proposal Hearing

I. Proposed Topic

This study will assess how effective the fire personnel in the City of Naga in

implementing community awareness about preventing casualties in national disaster

such as typhoon, earthquake, landslides and fire.

II. Proposed Title

BFP, CITY OF NAGA: Effectiveness in conducting community awareness in Natural

Disaster and Fire Prevention.

The respondents of the study are the residents of City of Naga, who lives in a place that

will always encounter a natural disaster in City of Naga.

V. Research Topic Brief Description

This study is a Quantitative design that will assess how effective the Bureau of Fire

Protection personnel in conducting awareness to the community about Natural Disaster

awareness and Fire Prevention. On what are they going to do in times of crisis and how

well equipped and well trained are the community, it is important to know if they have

learned something to the seminars conducted to the Bureau of Fire Protection. So that

the BFP will also be informed on what the community lacks or haven’t learned yet. So

that this study can also help not only to the community but also to the Bureau of Fire

Protection personnel
VI. Reason for choosing this topic

We choose this topic because we would like to know how effective are the BFP

seminars conducted to the community, and what did the community learned and does it

really help them to be more efficient in times of calamity it is really important to evaluate

what did the community understands in the seminar so that we could assess the other

needs of the community so that they would absorb all the teachings and trainings

conducted on how to prevent any casualties in natural disaster and how to avoid fire

calamities.

1. What are the reasons why people risk their own life if they encounter this matter?

2. How natural disasters affect people?

3. How can we lessen the damage or injuries when we encounter natural disasters?

4. What are the possible actions that we can give to the people who encounter about

this matter?
VIII. Who will benefit from this research?

The people who can benefit this research or study are the following.

 The citizens of City of Naga

 The Citizens of City of Naga because due to the landslide devastated in the

tinaan City of Naga Cebu there are many casualties due to the lack of

knowledge and semenar in a particular area, if the place is still safe to live or

not

 The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)

 The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will also benefit on this topic or research

cause they will know what area in the City Of Naga needs to be conducted

semenars and trainings in preventing and further damages or harm.

 The Establishments in the City of Naga

 The Establishments also will benefit cause they will be aware if there

establishment is still safe or if it can withstand a Natural Disaster like Earth

Quake or Typhoons.

 The students in the City of Naga

 Also the students of the City of Naga can benefit cause we will be conducting

semenars in school if possible and training to the students who the most

needed to be trained cause they are the ones who are in most danger
 especially if a disaster will happen during class hours. So seminars and

trainings will help them to avoid any casualties.

 The Students of Professional Academy of the Philippines

 The students of Professional Academy of the Philippines will benefit this

study, because they will be aware, they can prepare their self into this kind of

matter, they won’t get panic also they can handle, there self-matter in the

future if it will happen.

IX. Expected Action & Action Plan

After we conduct our study it will serve as a guide to all people who live in a

place that will always encounter or having a natural disaster. And that guide is what we

called an intervention plan.

They will be well trained and well equipped for the disasters that is about to happen. So

that we can lessen any possible casualties or injuries and damage to property, our main

goal for this topic is to help the community and to conduct more seminars in the
barangays that most needed to be lectured or semenar and conduct a training on

applying first aid if injured also search and rescue protocols.

The students of Professional Academy of the Philippines will benefits this study,

because they will be aware, they can prepare their self into this kind of matter, they

have an idea about the possibilities can happened and they won’t panic, also they can

handle there self-matter in the future if it will happen.

We will share all the information about how to prepare in terms of disaster and

what are those circumstances when disaster happens, by that information they have

already idea how to prevent any casualties in natural disaster.

After we conduct our study it will serve as a guide to us and to the people what

are not prepared on this kind of matter. And the action that we can give is what we

called Intervention Plan.
